Wild Arms and Shadow Hearts creators to launch Double Kickstarter campaign for spiritual successors Armed Fantasia and Penny Blood

It's crazy how stark the trajectories between Wild Arms and Shadow Hearts are heading. The former is providing detailed updates whereas the latter has a lot of uncertainty.

Well that sucks, out of the 2 I'm way more interested in Penny Blood

I thought the point of fundraising is that you don't need a publisher? Weird. Maybe ask the people who picked up Eiyuden Chronicles.. but then again, that probably wasn't too profitable either.

It was sort of buried at the bottom of their campaign page, but they were in talks with a bunch of publishers and investors who apparently found the projects too risky and weren't sure there would be any interest in them.
So the kickstarter was basically a way to test, and potentially prove, that there was an audience for these games. It was meant to be a leverage they could use to go back to the negotiation table and be like "look how many people supported us, there's clearly interest in our games".

Because realistically you can't really make either of these (not to mention both of them) with the production values they showed for only $2.5 mill (so 1.25 mill each).

That said, the way it was written it sounded like they already had agreements in place that would go through if they reached their goal...which they did multiple times over. So something clearly went wrong
