Two ways to look at it. Of course, The Steam Deck is not a threat now.
But:
1: If these handhelds are becoming a way to play, Xbox Games, PlayStation Games an PC games on one device. One might just eat that loss and stay on a PC handheld and forget Nintendo.
2. If Nintendo really maintains first strong Party Support, there will always be a place for Nintendo Hardware.
It will be interesting to see how all this shakes out in the next decade.
Is Nintendo going to do a trifecta of sameness or will they have to find a new angle for the next console?

Switch 1 still selling more than the Steamdeck and Asus Rog Ally (Including the Xbox version) combined… The Switch 2 is in another dimension in comparison.

one does not disqualify the other.
let me explain this to the slow people. all your competitors sell 50 total units of product, you sell 100 units, but you expected to sell 150 units.
we know switch 2 sold around 17 million? in 2025. For some reason I cannot find ps5 total sales for the year only its lifetime sells.

Yes, the switch 2 was off to a record start. But also slowed in the holiday sales period when compared to the switch 1 launch. Both are true. PS5 sales for the year should be announced later today when Sony release their quarterly financials. For its 5th year on the market.
