When I hear Rumors of Perfect Dark Zero, I always think
"Woohoo, gotta buy a Xbox360"
"Oh shit, it could be online-only"
I don't like this whole online-concept. I hope the splitscreen won't be forgotten next generation.
I doubt that 2 player splitcreen will be forgotten. It's pretty much a given to offer that option in many games.
And people generally like to play in 2 splitscreens. One that we may see disappear though is 4 players splitscreen i guess. And i wouldn't shed a tear...
I can't wait till you can hook up a single system and play on two different screens. Think system link but with a single console. Sure it'll be no time soon, but one can dream
I hope not. I was up till 3am last night playing Metroid Prime 2 4-player with my close friends. It's just so much fun, and requires a good deal of strategy.
He's talking about no visual degredation in spiltscreen. Less fps, lower res textures, background/item omission etc. that is the norm in splitscreen play.
So he wants spilt screen visuals to look just as good as single player visuals.
No degredation in split screen is not gonna happen. It's pretty obvious why, the game has to render 2 screens at once (or 4 in the case of 4 player split screen). The only way for it not to happen is if the develper doesn't push the hardware fully in single player mode. I'd rather have degraded split screen visuals than degraded single player visuals to give the illusion that multi play offers no visual degradation.
