Will you be willing to go to the movie theatres during Covid-19?

Willing, yes. I don't think any of the movies coming out look particularly interesting though.

Also, The Batman isn't due until October next year. I don't think this will be as big of a deal by then.

hel! yeah I'm trying to go next week or at least when Tenet comes out!! I miss the movies on the big screen and theatres are taking the necessary precautions so I'm down.

Fuck no. Why would I risk the health of my family and I just to watch a movie I'll be able to watch at home in a couple months. I mean going to work and shopping is one thing but IMO it seems pretty stupid to needlessly expose yourself to crowded spaces..

No, but having said that: Relax. 7 vaccines are in Phase 3 of trials. Expect most to be available early next year.

Depends on the digital delivery options.
If these movies aren’t direct to digital then I’ll see them in the theater even if I sit next to a guy spewing rona everywhere.
My must see films over the next year:

No Time to Die
Top Gun Maverick
Tenant
The Batman
Jurassic World Dominion

Cheeks Spread for Digital Only Future
I'm tempted to go to one of Cinemarks revival showings, Empire Strikes Back or Raiders of the lost ark or Jurassic Park. It does seem like a little bit of a risk, but you are socially distanced.

I've already been 9 times since they reopened a few weeks ago.

It's nice and air conditioned, so a good way to avoid the hellishly hot British summer, there's usually only a few other people there, no one bothers you if you take your mask off when no ones around, and they've been playing awesome old movies along with a few new ones.

So far I've seen:

Terminator 1&2
Back to the Future trilogy
Flash Gordan
Inception
The Vigil
Spree
And we've already booked tickets for Tenet.

Honestly, it's been awesome going again. Watching movies at home just isn't as good, especially with so few people in attendance currently. We were literally the only people watching Flash Gordan.

My wife and I have always loved the cinema, and have one of those loyalty cards that mean for 1.5 times the cost of a standard ticket we can go as many times as I like.

Just be sensible, don't get in crowds, wear a mask when near other people and keep some hand sanitiser on you, and it's an awesome night out.

I thought about it but I think it's a bad idea. It's not worth risking bringing anything home. I love going to the movies though.

I’ll go to the drive in but not an inside theater. Watching movies is fun but it’s not that different an experience from sitting at home so I’ll just go w that.

I would care more but the mainstream movies have gotten worse and worse over the years. Some of the movies I have seen in the past 5-10 years in theater have been the worst movies I have ever seen. Had a feeling there was a movie bubble and I’m still waiting for it to pop.

So no. I’m not going for Batman Remake 10 or Jurassic Park 7 or Wonder Woman 2 or Shit Squad 2. Maybe they should start making good original movies again.

Yeah I would. Zero concern about the rona at this point. I’ve worked through the entire pandemic, fairly certain I’ve been exposed and developed sufficient antibodies.

Will probably go see Tenet in the next few weeks, though I'm likely go to the local Picture house (Arts Cinema) near me versus a multiplex as I figure less people to contend with, and I dare say they could do with the money.

yup, i'm gonna go see Tenet. i'd watch almost anything as i'm just wanting to go out and feel some normality. i was meant to go see A Quiet Place 2 before all this shit kicked off. gonna go see that. there's the new James Bond too. and i ain't a big Batman fan but i am actually interested in seeing that. the trailer actually was good and i want to see it. also it has robert pattinson and they filmed some of it where i live.

this shot was in the trailer :)

Nope.

I rather wait for the blu ray release anyways and watch on my OLED.
Seriously? I guess a Blu-ray is about the price of a cinema ticket and it's yours for life, but I guess I just hardly rewatch films. And if I want to I'll just obtain them elsewhere.

Definitely for Tenet and Bond. I'd also like to see some older films while they're playing but my theater isn't open yet.

Being in a dark room with ridiculous current crime rates is nothing I want to do, so no but I couldn't careless about the flux2(covid19).

I'm not completely opposed to the idea but it'd take something pretty special to get me in a theater and there isn't anything like that coming out for quite a while.

It seems relatively safe here, theathers are open since July 17th but I didn‘t go yet. Mostly because they only show old movies I‘ve seen several times already. Almost went for Jurassic Park, but it was in 4DX and I don‘t like the rollercoaster experience. I just want to watch a movie in peace.

Secondly, the rules annoy me. You have to order everything, concessions included, in advance and you‘re suppossed to wear your mask as long as you‘re not eating. I get the rules, I respect them whenever I‘m out but they still annoy me.

Today, Tenet and New Mutants are finally opening here, so I‘m thinking of doing a double feature tonight. Might end up watching Inception again at home though, no idea yet.

Going tonight to see tenet (my daughter became a big Christopher Nolan fan over the summer)

plan on taking it easy, mask on and giving plenty of space

was able to brave eating out and going for a drink, over the last couple of weeks

I just see at as a little carefully managed slice of what life used to be like and where we can hopefully get to again 👍

Movies have not turned out to be good enough to warrant travel, tickets and snacks. Only thing it has going is screen size, impact of the sound has drastically decreased in recent memory. My home system is more to my taste.

I'd rather watch stuff at home when it becomes available.

No, but I have parents / in-laws that I would want to protect when they visit. I totally get it if people are in blood feuds with relatives and don't mind the risk of transmission.

I've already been to the movies. Saw Peanut Butter Falcon a couple of weeks ago. We were three people in the entire salon. Great movie though, worth it.

Seeing Tenet tomorrow. Will be wearing a mask. If we were in April or May I wouldn’t have gone but the worst of Rona is over til the inevitable december/January return.

I very rarely visited the cinema even before the pandemic. Don't mind waiting a few months for a VOD/BR release.

Pretty much where I am. There's honestly nothing out there giving me any great urge other than Top Gun really, but I certainly have no issues with being in a cinema. We have a particularly nice one near us where you have an actual sofa and they serve really fucking good food. It's a bit hipster but I can live with that for a quality movie-watching experience.

I'm willing to go (if they're open) for some movies. Tenet, WW84, Godzilla vs Kong, Maverick etc... some movies just have to be seen on the big screen.
