Will you be willing to go to the movie theatres during Covid-19?

I already went there several times since their reopening. I'm a huge movie buff so the theatre experience is still something I hold very dear and Covid is not going to change that.

I usually go to small, indie cinemas instead of the big multiplexes, so I'm not worried at all about being in a crowded environment as there's usually not more than 10 people in the room. Tenet is on my watch-list, but those small theatres do a lot of reruns of either old movies or foreign stuff that I can't watch elsewhere, which is great.

I do agree though that in terms of blockbusters, there's not a lot that catches my interest so like with videogames, I tend to work on my "movie backlog" right now.

Nowadays i'm not willing to go even without covid...

Shitty video quality (because where i live they are not aware that quality projectors exist)
Unconfortable sits for tall people like me
people talking or joking or even worse childs who cry or ask explanatiln to parents evert 30 sec
And i hate the italian dub because it's usually ultra shitty quality and i love watching everything with the original dub.

I mean, if my friends organize a cinema night i go but i'm surely not the guy who put out the idea.

I am not willing to go to movie theatres, no. They cost an arm and a leg for a subpar experience because of other customers.

As long as they make sure social distancing measures are in place, i'll be happy to go. I think movie goers should have more space even before the china virus to be honest

No movies I'm interested in but I would do anything because I'm not scared. I've been to the mall several times by now and I go out to the park everyday. It's nice tk be able to live again

Growing up, Candyman was one of my favorite movies. It still holds up today. Just anyone try to stop me from seeing Candyman (2020) in theaters! They even have Tony Todd who played the titular character in the original!

Supposedly its still coming to theaters October 16. Hope it doesn't get delayed again.

I barely see movies without covid in theatres and usually wait for it to come out digitally. Just 1 or 2 big blockbusters I usually watch per year in the cinemas. So especially now, I don't have any desire to go.

I might have been more willing but it has just gotten too expensive in general. My local theater isn't even all that great, but it's like $14 for a ticket, $10 for a popcorn.

I'd rather get the 4K HDR bluray a couple months later on Amazon.

No, but the twin here is an absolute dump. I've installed better sound systems in homes. If I were still in NYC i'd think about it, assuming my favorite theaters weren't burnt down or boarded up, or refusing to sell tickets to white males.

Nah

Even though COVID is a lot less significant in Australia and Im willing to go to shopping centres, restaurants, gyms etc.

Something about a movie theatre. People wiping their snotty, popcorn grease hands all over the seat. The air con on full blast. All would be okay if it weren't the fact its 14 year olds cleaning and maintaining the place

I would like to but I hate wearing masks for one. Plus I don't trust other people that would be going.

If I lived in an area where people were respectful and polite to each other I would consider it.

I can wait for digital or hope for the same time digital release on Vudu.

Went last week to go see Tenet. Was scared tbh, didnt knew how it would work, and decide to go see it with friends at 3 oclock in the afternoon, week day, to make sure there was not a lot of people. Double seats need to be chosen on the terminal with spacing, and when we arrived in the theatre, we were like, 15 or 20 person in it? To my surprise, no seats were condemned, so we got the liberty to choose other seats than the one we selected. Another big surprise, nobody working at the theatre came when the movie was playing to see if we were social distancing.

Im guessing a week-end 7pm representation will get more people in, but its sad to see that Tenet will not make what it was supposed to make (800 millions ) to get even.

As for safety, well, i felt secure, was able to remove mask when seated when eating my popcorn, and even was able to not have it when watching the movie. I think younger audience which, theory speaking here, who would care maybe less about the virus, might go at a later time, so from now on i would feel more safe going to a representation at 1 or 3 oclock in the afternoon, and will be thinking that people going there at that time might have the same thinking as i do, so im guessing more careful person will go sooner.

So yeah, i will go back as long as im sure there is not a lot of people in it, but its sad to see this situation tbh.

Of course I would fucking go... fuck this fake pandemic and all the cry babies keeping the fear mongering going. I'm more worried about all the retarded safety precautions they will impose that may ruin the experience than anything else.

You shoulda seen how pussy it was when I went to see Tenet. There was like 10 people in this GIANT cinema and everyone but me and my brothers had masks on. They had someone at the front making sure everyone sat in their seats, with some checklist. Lotsa bullshit COVID PR before the movie started too. They also won't let more than 2 people sit beside eachother :pie_eyeroll:

What a crock of shit. Was rolling my eyes into my skull until the movie started.

The other theatre I went to to see Unhinged was less strict. Someone popped their head in to check things out at one point before the movie started but I didn't see anyone with a bullshit checklist there at least. They had similar lip service COVID PR propaganda before the movie started too.

2020 is the year of the pussy.

I don't care about getting sick, but I probably won't go to a theater until I can go without 800 caveats tailored for ignorant cowards.

Hollywood is almost dead. Cinema is almost dead.
And covid just might as well put the final nail in the coffin.

Just like blockbuster just like cable the theaters are not safe from digital streaming.

But as far as would i go....i dont care for the covid hoax. I go everywhere. But there is nothing of interest for me to watch.
And believe me i am craving for some good comedy. Or some surprise blockbuster that was district 9 or joker

Ah
Pretty much where I am. There's honestly nothing out there giving me any great urge other than Top Gun really, but I certainly have no issues with being in a cinema. We have a particularly nice one near us where you have an actual sofa and they serve really fucking good food. It's a bit hipster but I can live with that for a quality movie-watching experience.
Man you should go to thailand . They even have king sized beds . Weird

I've been going since early May when they first opened up again in Texas. I've gone at least 20 times, probably more. I was able to see a bunch of classics like Jurassic Park, Casablanca, LOTR Trilogy (extended), Dark Knight, Jaws, Back to the Future I & II, Inception, etc... Also saw "recently released" stuff like The Hunt and Bloodshot.

This past weekend I saw New Mutants and Unhinged.
