Will you camp for a 360?

No real need to, I have it pre-ordered at the local GS. I imagine I'll show up about an hour early and file in line happily.

I've got one pre ordered but would I camp? Depends. Maybe for an hour ot two but thats it. If its something like a 4-5 hour wait then fuck no. I'll just buy one in January instead. I could easily get along on PS2 and Xbox games for the rest of this year. I don't even camp for concert tickets like I use to,a video game system would definitely be a no no for that.

Camp out? No, won't need to. It's a $400 game system at a time where a lot of technology is vying for mainstream dollars. iPod Video, PSP...current gen still not completely dead. I doubt there will be much of a problem procuring one without a preorder on launch day.

I'd agree if shipments weren't going to be so slim... seriously, I'm starting to get the idea from the havoc of worldwide shipping on top of low yields at manufacture that it's possible the US won't see more than 300,000 units on day one. In that event, they're just going to be gone.

Except for Circuit City. No one ever seems to think to check out Circuit City.

I recently moved to a small town (about 10k) that is not filled with prosperous, tech-savvy people. Incredibly, there's a Gamestop here. Based on the demographics and the presence of a Gamestop for whatever hardcore does exist, I'm guessing that there will be plenty available at Wal-Mart, and I will check it out at midnight just to see what's going on. I'm not going to wait in any kind of long line though.

I'm already in line. I'm posting this from my PSP, via a starbucks hotspot next door.

Even if I did want to buy at launch, I don't know if I would camp out. I just don't see working well when I'd have to be up early the next day.

No, but I will be setting up a deer blind.

No Im not camping out for 360, I have never camped out for a system launch. I have a friend who works at Walmart and plan on using their card for a 10% discount.

I won't camp out for the 360. I probably won't even get one until the first price decrease.

I will camp out for the PS3 and MGS4 though :)

Nope. My preorder has fallen through as the place I had is blaming MS for undershipping consoles at launch. ;)

I have to leave for a meeting very early on Nov 22 so I won't be camping out at night. I may try to get up a half hour early and head to walmart at 4am to see if they have any left. If not I'll just wait until I find one in the store.

By the time MGS4 is out you won't have to camp for a PS3. ;)

My 360 is being shipped so no need to camp. 360 is going to be selling like hotcakes, cant wait till marketing kicks in

Last and only time I camped for a system was the PS2 with Superpac. I won't be doing it again. Especially now that I'm back in Nova Scotia, where system shortages don't really seem to be an issue. This town is small enough, and has enough places like EB/Wal-Mart/Futureshop that I'll be shocked if I can't grab a system on launch day just by showing up during regular business hours.

In this day and age of Best Buy's, Wal Mart's, Circuit City's and Target's it amazes me that people feel the need to camp for anything... unless you live in a city that doesn't have alot of these stores near you... in which case u suck. ;)

I have two of those stores within a minute's walk of my apartment, so I don't think I'll need to do any camping. Plus, I would guess most cities won't have crazy lines for the 360. Maybe there will be lines, but not PS2 lines.

It was for work! :P And so was the "peeing in the alley next to Best Buy." All for work!

I'm not going to camp, but there is a Wal-mart not far from where I live, so I'm planning either a mid-night run, or getting up early and going by first thing in the morning before I head off to work.
