Decided to start fresh with the Creators Update. Everything running smooth.
Have you used powershell?
You can even use terminal commands.
I downloaded the Update Assistant, started the update (Creator Update) and it failed :/ The Assistant app downloads the update, verifies it, starts installing it, but at about 75-80% is suddenly stops and goes back to the starting (welcome) screen. I tried three or four times and each time the result was the same.
Do you have a non-standard setup? like dual boot with other OS or several partitions, etc?
I have a second hard drive (the system is on SSD and there's a second HDD with data) so that might be it. But if that's the source of the problem it would be really fucked up if the system update has a problem with such a standard setup. Oh well, I'll unmount the second drive and see if that helps.
I do wonder though, how do you remove some of the new things like Such as View 3D, Mixed Reality Portal etc? I removed a bunch of crap before with powershell but not sure on what to type.
After the update, every time I boot up my PC the screen stays black. I have to press the power button to turn it off then turn it back on again then it works.
How was it? I'm considering it this time since I've never reinstalled since I built my computer in 2011. I'm too concerned with all my odd customizations to go through it all. I have like 4 internal drives and it's not as snappy as I'd like.Decided to start fresh with the Creators Update. Everything running smooth.
What version are you using?
Type winver in start or run menu.
It went quick. I don't keep a lot of stuff on my PC as it's just gaming focused so I was done in an hour and a half just installing the OS, drivers, and setting things up.How was it? Version 1703 build 15063.13
It wasn't a problem before, right?
In one version above that one, 15063.14 tests a fix on processes that suspend after a resume.
Perhaps tomorrow's update will fix it for everyone.
Nope it wasn't happening before, let's hope the update fixes it.
Now.
15063.138 update is here.
The creator's update axed my internet connection on my laptop. It gets intermitent and using fast.com or speedtest it gives me a third of the speed I used to have. '

Im pretty bummed for not beeing able to use this new update -.-'

Same here. I even did a complete fresh install from scratch. It's so bizarre. The speed seems completely locked to 5Mbps and it used to be 25Mbps for the 2 years prior to the update without fail.
I am confused how the OS update could cause this but it did because I've eliminated all other variables that it could be.
Edit: after a quick browse in the TP Link forums, most people with the same Archer T4U USB wifi stick I have are having this same issue after the Creators Update. Hopefully it gets fixed soon
I'm only having one issues that I know about, the "most used" section of the start menu appears to be broken for me, just displaying a static list of apps in it (and they are all already pinned ones). Anyone else have an issue with that?
Had a really old laptop here that can't take the update at .0 revision. Never tried it with the current CU.
Couldn't reboot nor find any connections through ethernet + wifi. Ethernet driver was installed.
Decided to install XUbuntu over it. Computer is over a decade old.
Windows Kernel has changed a lot.
I just fixed my problem by disabling QoS in the wifi adapter driver settings (which was never a problem before the Creators Update). May be worth a try for you.
CU has made Edge much faster on my rig. I was so close to going back to Chrome because of the Edge lag but now it seems snappier than Chrome.
anyone help? This creators update which has been pushed on me has broken the sound on my computer. I can hear nothing now and yes I have checked my headphones are plugged in, tried different usbs and line ins.

Ok gross. MS got rid of "Open Command Prompt Here" from the (shift) right-click menu in folders and replaced it with "Open PowerShell Here".
Registry edit required to bring it back.
This is the kind of shit that makes people not want to install Windows Updates.
I've been having the same issue. Disconnecting from Wi-Fi and reconnecting solves it for me, but as far as I can tell, the network hasn't lost the internet connection or anything. It's pretty frustrating...I'm having a really weird issue ever since I installed the CU.
I'll be on my PC and all will be fine, and then all of a sudden my internet just completely drops. Hard wired ethernet connection. Wi-Fi on my phone is still fine, and when I go to connection settings no errors are detected and it still appears to be sending and receiving data, but all my programs will just stop loading. Discord, Skype, Steam etc all will disconnect, no web browser will load any pages, nothing.
Restarting my PC fixes it every single time, but holy crap this is a stupid bug. I was getting really close to deleting my old install but no way in hell I do it now. Has anyone else encountered this kind of an issue or know what could be causing it? I can't find anyone who seems to be having this issue. Lots of people have constant ethernet problems from the start but nobody seems to have it like me where it'll be perfectly fine and then suddenly just stop.
My LAN port is an Intel 82579V connector. I have a spare Qualcomm one but I've always used the Intel one since I remember reading somewhere years ago it worked better with my motherboard's chipset. :/ No updates appear to be available for either controller, according to Windows.
