Ho boy. Do you have multiple monitors? It reset my configuration and showed a black screen on the only one I had turned on at the time.

No, but I had my monitor plugged in with both DisplayPort and HDMI...durrrr. Teamviewed into it and figured that out quickly! It was actually acting as if it had multiple monitors.

Aw :(

wtf! 1.12AM and still not getting the update. Even restarted computer, i have that dumb "we will tell you when its ready" thing. FML.

Windows seems to use my motherboard boot screen while loading. Is this normal?

Like, it uses the boot screen and overlays the little loading icon on top of it.

I already see a flaw. You can't seem to set rotating wallpapers or assign 3 different wallpapers to 3 different monitors. Anyone know how to do this?

Not that impressed so far. Install messed up my Kodi SMB shares so I had to fix that.

I guess it also updated Nvidia drivers for me? I hope I get the chance to do that myself in the future...

Probably asked a billion times before but:

1. During installation, what option should I use if I wanna keep my files where they are as is?

2. Speaking of which, would Office need a subscription now if I upgrade? Hell, is Office even included here? Because if it isn't, I'd really like to keep using my present version of it.

Why isn't Cortana in my region or language?

Cortana is available in the following countries/regions: China, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, United Kingdom, and United States. Cortana is available in these languages: Chinese (Simplified), English (U.K.), English (U.S.), French, Italian, German, and Spanish
To use Cortana, all these settings must be set to the same language:•Languages (this is your device language)
•Speech language (language pack must be installed)
•Country or region

Note: If you change your region, you might not be able to shop at Store, or use things you've purchased, like memberships and subscriptions, games, movies, TV, and music.

Wonder if an update is needed to turn it on.

Surface Pro 3 is at 50%... Half way there!

I upgraded. Things seem slower in general for some reason. Also Cortana isn't as smart as I thought she would be.

The slowness is normal. Its because Windows is still doing setup in the background. It'll ramp up to full speed over the next hour or so

sweet reddit trick worked for m

edit: lol or not, saw the progress and then it disappear

Just got back from being out of town for a week, will deal with this tomorrow when I am not so tired

Quick question: how can I tell if Windows 10 is downloading? I'm thinking of playing some online games but won't if any of my PC's have started the download.

Are you sure of this? I just launched it a few minutes ago.

It launched it on two computers, on both removed everything except for a 'SafeOS' folder and reduced it from 4-5GB to 300MB.

Windows Update is now redownloading it after I ran this in an administrator command prompt:
Code:
RMDIR /S C:\$Windows.~BT & RMDIR /S C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\Download & wuauclt.exe /updatenow

I'm hoping that works, I'd rather do it through WU than use an ISO, though I'm not sure there's a difference.

How do I know if it's downloading this without me knowing? Performance in games has tanked and I'm wondering if this is the culprit. I'm not ready to upgrade so I want to cancel it if it's downloading or something.

Been on Windows 10 for almost a week and just found out that you can re-size the start menu's width and height by dragging the edges, like you're re-sizing a window.
