Fucking lmao.
You don't know that these people are speaking freely or if its co-ordinated
3 things:
CoD underperforming, plus the Xbox Tax of Game Pass.
Series Consoles selling worse than the OUYA
And the layoffs.
bruh....

Underperforming simply means that it will sell below expectations, but it will still sell very well. and because it is so critical to the Xbox's business, they will panic even if it makes 5% less sales. (revenue)I don't know about CoD. I used to work with GameStop back in the day. The folks that buy CoD literally get it every year, regardless if it's complete d00d00 or not.
I expect it probably will still do well, but maybe it will decline overall. Most people didn't seem very enthused about this entry at all.
I saw the beta with some killstreak that was like a through-all-the-walls sniper and I'm good on stuff like that.
The Game Pass debacle was rough because I think it was a moment where people just *really* got fed up at the price increases.
We've all been seeing it. Groceries, electronics, cars, rent, houses. For many people, we're already stretched thin and gaming is their escape from that.
Suddenly, it's not so much and nobody gets angry like gamers do. They speak out on the nonsense far more than many others do, in my experience.
At a minimum it warrants investigation. You don't know that these people are speaking freely or if its co-ordinated. The Windows Central article is MS signalling that they clearly don't believe so and won't be taking it anymore. And Jez Corden's contributions to the piece were no coincidence, given his connections to the MS hierarchy. They will be looking into this!
And no this isn't about people making robust criticisms of Xbox. There's a massive difference between that and bad actors using disinformation to negatively harm MS and their customers, not to mention the retailers themselves. Target had to come out and debunk these lies, that's how serious the consequences are.
Thats always been the issue with a service like gamepass. Games cost too much to make to give them away for $15/month, but if you want people to pay more (like $30/month) then you have to have really great games on there. And not just great games, but enough of them that allow you to release them almost at a monthly cadence so people pay every month for the service.Regarding the GP debacle... you hit the nail on the head. Now it's about money, now it's real. No promises or sweet words about a bright future, wait until next, list of games that get canceled or are subpar.... smaller game ain't going to the trick either. If MS wants to charge $30 for its service... they need big and juicy games....it's going to be very interesting how the Outer Worlds 2 buzz is going to be.
It'sEither @m14 is the best troll ever or he has gone completely batshit insane over the fall of Xbox.
They were losing between 100 and 200 $ and it was stated it was the series S they were losing more money on at 300$ sales price. Second that loss included marketing and R&D cost in that figure it's not the cost to manufavture on of these consoles. Third the hey raised the price by 300$ I am sorry buddy but they are not losing money on the console at 800$ they aren't a tiny little company their procurement department isn't some inexperienced minnows for them to be completely lost letting costs spiral. They were losing ~$200 a console three years ago. Despite the price increases, the American Trade War will have increased the BOM. Add them both together, and I suspect they're still losing some money.
The persecution complex is strong in this one...Curiously you're the one trying to stifle speech here by suggesting I be removed.
At no point did I state forum posters here would be sued. Several joked about it themselves though!
That's not how expenses are factored. BOM for the XSX + process costs was around $700, leading to a ~$200 loss. Price increases and tariffs added up together would largely be a wash. You can keep repeating your clearly incorrect non-sense all you like, you'll just continue to be wrong.... Second that loss included marketing and R&D cost in that figure it's not the cost to manufavture on of these consoles...
You might not know this, but existing customers actually don't have to buy hardware again at the inflated prices, so those hardware pirces don't "milk" anyone. If you're talking about Game Pass, they just lost most of their "hardcore fanbase" with a 50% price increase. Why? Microsoft have clearly moved to minimise continued losses in a generation that's already over. Losing money on XSX|S hardware, losing money on wasted shelf space, losing money on loss-leading services that aren't driving profits; there's no need for any of that any more. Re-set the prices at the maximum sustainable levels and let this generation putter out while they make moves for next-gen. It's pretty obvious.... They changed strategies when they realized game pass failed at this point they are pulling back hardware and are content with milking their hardcore fanbase for all they are worth to maximize return since they clearly don't care about sale numbers anymore.
Here's a thought experiment- imagine this level of disinformation surrounded Sony?
My manI had to check, that dip is still sore that 'i got him banned' and tagging me as frequently asLectureMaster does here

Was it this much fun here when Dreamcast got shitcanned?Either @m14 is the best troll ever or he has gone completely batshit insane over the fall of Xbox.
That's what retail employees say to customers when they walk past the Xbox section. It's certainly funny how much some people are insisting that "there's nothing to see here. Move along everyone!"![]()
Sold my SX recently. Would pick one up again to use for a hacked machine in a few years.
Waiting for them to do a £49.99 sell off like Dreamcast.
They're currently £499 at Argos when the equivalent disc PS5 is £450.
They're in absolutely no position to be pricing close to PS5. Madness at this point.
It's certainly funny how much some people are insisting that "there's nothing to see here. Move along everyone!"![]()
It is astonishing similar, down to the wording and arguments. DamnWe've been through this before

They consciously lied and astroturfed about Xbox for years, but when someone says what they actually see happening in front of them to Xbox, investigate for conspiracy to cause harm...do you think Microsoft should be investigated also?At a minimum it warrants investigation.
