Me neither, but if it's not fixed with NoDo I'm going back to the iPhone or maybe even Android. T-Mobile (Germany) already offered me a great contract in case I want to come back to them.

I'm now at a point where I just accept that Windows Phone 7 is not what I want it to be and that there's no chance it will be useful (for me) before 2012. Microsoft actively advertises YouTube on their official Windows Phone 7 page so I'm sure I can get a full refund from them for not delivering on their promise.
Can't you swap the phone? Maybe it's a hardware bug or some shit.

I'm getting my hd7 tonight. can you guys recommend must have apps and games please? thanks! also, as a musician any good free metronome and guitar tuner apps? if not, good paid ones please. I'm also into lifting weights and watch ny diet carefully so anything for that (like a journal) would be appreciated

Seems isolated to you, I'd return the phone and try a new one. Did anyone else here have a problem with that video? It works fine for me (Samsung Focus).

Well call me crazy, but I have this feeling Tuesday seems to be MS patch day. What better day than to send out the WP7 patch?

IDK I have this feeling IF and I mean IF we are getting the patch this week that it'll be either Tuesday or Thursday.

Ugh, I don't know. I'm not even sure if I care anymore. It will happen in the next ten days (or not). The entire Windows Phone team shouldn't get any donuts, until Mango ships.

LOL you sound like me last week, and now I'm the semi hopeful one! hehehe

PS: IloMilo is the best game on WP7 by FAAARRRR.

Now that you mention it ... :lol But come on, releasing an update on Microsoft's patch day? Just because WP7 is using the Microsoft Update service? That makes too much sense.

I'll tell you how I feel at the end of this week. My combined faith in AT&T and the Windows Phone 7 team could not possibly be any lower. I have no idea which of them is gonna screw me this week. Probably both.

AT&T wants you to buy the "new" HTC HD7S with Super LCD screen and NoDo pre-installed. If that phone comes out before NoDo on AT&T, then I'm gonna laugh.

Actually that may be a reason they would hold the update back.. to push a new phone.

But but but... MS SWORE carriers couldn't block more than 1 update at a time and NoDo would be the 2nd update (for me at least)

how does Rhapsody subscription service compare to Zune Pass?

For the price the zunepass is a MUCH better deal..... but the rdio app is very interesting because its basically as good as rhapsody but only costs $5 a month.

Thanks for the link up there.

Isn't rdio $10/month moblie, $5/month web only? I've used Rdio on iOS/Android and its solid and intuitive but had performance issues + some library gaps (2million+ less songs than Rhapsody, some you notice many you won't).

Stupid question. How do I read tags? App?
Damn, I swear I mentioned the tag reader in the app thread.
Here's the link: Microsoft Tag Reader

Duh ...

Damn, you're right. AT&T already did that. Well, then it's Microsoft holding the update back, so you can buy new phones! Sales haven't been that good, you know?

My mistake.... I was still in the trial period and assumed that it was really $5 (since they advertise that on the main page). I had been trying them out after all the gushing the engadget guys did about it. Zunepass is by far the best deal then because for $5 more you get to convert 10 songs each month into a mp3 that will play anywhere.

No biggie. I think I'd say Zune Pass, then Rhapsody. After that all the Mogs and Rdios of the world each offer something cool if you must be different but really...just use Zune Pass or Rhapsody.

I´m 99% sure that you got a faulty phone. I have the exact same model as you do, am in the exact same carrier situation, and do not have the same problem. Youtube works just fine on my Omnia.

Yes, I think it's my phone's fault. I'm glad Microsoft advertises YouTube on their page as being part of Windows Phone 7. I think I'll also mention all the bugs (Marketplace, etc.), though.

Why shouldn't they advertise it? YT works for everyone else. Might be a shitty experience without a 3rd party app, but it still works.

They can't even get their podcast out, much less the update.

I think they are just delaying the podcast until the update is out so they can do a show where they congratulate themselves for releasing a minor update five months after launch.

I'm sure it's both MS and AT&T's decision. Considering the first update screwed up some phones, they both are taking the time to fix and test the second update before releasing. I'm really hoping for this week though, but at this point, I guess I could wait another week.

You don't listen to the Podcast, do you? :p They congratulate themselves every week for something. They don't need an actual update for that. The exciting future of Windows Phone 7 is reason enough to celebrate seven days a week.

So I caved in and bought and HTC Thunderbolt.

Sorry MS, I'll still use your Zune for music. Until it breaks!
Yeah, even if I leave the OS (which is becoming a bigger possibility as MS fumbles their way through a minor update) I'm not leaving Zune. Even after the player breaks, I'll still use the software and Zune Pass, which I use every day at work. I had high hopes for this OS, its a shame that MS is moving so slowly to fix bugs and improve the browser.

On a side note: Opera Mobile 11 launched today... it works on Windows 7 aka the tablet OS that nobody actually uses LOL.... but cause MS has shit on lock down we don't get a WP7 version... iOS, Blackberry, Symbian, and Android are all on the train though!

I'd kill for that browser right now just because I could finally watch html5 video. *SIGH* :(

On a more positive note, I'm getting better at training myself to unleash the power of the back button in this OS. So many multitasking scenarios would improve for me if I just remember to hit the back button instead of launching an app again from the start menu.

After my brother's bad experience with a low-end Android phone, he's thinking about switching to WP7. We have sprint, and I know the Arrive just came out. Is it worth getting now, or just waiting for the next generation of WP7 devices to be released?

I'd say that, because of the strict hardware requirements of WP7, it is probably worth getting now. All updates will at some point come to the current devices. Also, since the OS and the apps are made with current hardware in mind, there is not as much need for more capable hardware.

Opera also dropped support for Windows Mobile and said they'd support WP7, "when and where there is a business case for doing so".

Some more information on the NoDo update here

•Copy & paste. You asked for it—now it's here. Just tap a word and drag the arrows to copy and paste it on your phone. You can copy text from emails, text messages, web pages, and Office Mobile documents, and paste it anywhere you can type. To learn more, see Copy & paste.

•Faster apps and games. Nobody likes to wait. That's why we've whittled down the time it takes for apps and games to start up and resume. It's all part of our focus on getting you to the things you love, easier and faster.

•Better Marketplace search. We've streamlined Marketplace search to make it easier to find specific apps, games, or music. Press the Search button in the Apps or Games section of Marketplace and you'll see only apps or games in the results. Press Search in the Music section of Marketplace to search just the music catalog.

•Other Marketplace improvements. We've improved the stability of Marketplace while you download apps. We've also improved the experience of downloading apps larger than 20 megabytes, upgrading from trial apps to paid apps, using a credit card with an address outside the United States, sharing links to apps via email, sorting Xbox LIVE games by release date, and creating an Xbox LIVE account from within the Games Hub.

•Wi-Fi improvements. We now display your phone's Media Access Control (MAC) address in Settings. (You might need this info if you try to connect to a Wi-Fi network that uses MAC address filtering. To learn more, see Connect to a Wi-Fi network.) We've also removed the limit on the number of Wi-Fi profiles that you can store and reduced the time it takes to start your phone if you've stored lots of Wi-Fi profiles.

•Outlook improvements. We've improved the experience of viewing iPhone photo attachments you receive from a non-Exchange-based email account (such as a Google Mail, Hotmail, or Yahoo! Mail account), using the Global Address List (GAL) when connecting to Exchange Server 2003 using Exchange ActiveSync, and working with email display names that contain brackets (for example, "David Alexander [Contoso]").

•Messaging improvements. We've improved the experience of receiving Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) messages if your phone uses a PIN-locked SIM.

•Facebook integration. We've improved the experience of syncing Facebook accounts.

•Camera improvements. We've improved the stability of switching between camera and video modes.

•Audio improvements. We've improved the experience of using a Bluetooth headset to make calls when you're playing music or videos.

•Other performance improvements. This month's update also includes software from several phone manufacturers that improves the performance of specific models. Naturally, if you don't have one of the affected models, we won't install this portion of the update on your phone.

Hopefully this means its coming soon :P

Edit: Windows Phone 7 “NoDo” update now available

The company began pushing out “NoDo” to devices on Tuesday after a number of device ROMs leaked to the Internet early. Microsoft’s first Windows Phone 7 platform update features copy and paste and a whole lot more. Windows Phone users who received the “NoDo” update early on Tuesday have confirmed that Microsoft is pushing out build 7390 under the “Windows Phone Update – March 2011″ push.

No official word from microsoft that I've seen though
