Looks a little odd (could have tweaked it more to make the light and grey areas pop more) but here's a how monochrome Lumia 800 would look...

I wish developers would see WP7 as an extension of the Xbox brand.

They obviously don't. If they did, this cool looking Mass Effect game would be announced for more than just iOS.

I bought a used LG Quantum on ebay for my sister recently. It appears to be updated to Mango (has Local scout and multitasking). But you can't connect to hidden wireless points in the wifi settings. I thought that was added in Mango. Is this an LG Quantum specific issue or something?

I don't see why MS doesn't partner with a phone maker to create an "xbox" phone. really, just make the exterior share the xbox design and pack in some games. see how much interest it gets. no fragmentation, just a new piece of hardware with special branding.

I think before that MS needs to show they care more about gaming on the phone, but it's obviously an afterthought. When stuff like the CoD Elite app and a Mass Effect game slip through your fingers, they obviously don't care like they did with the 360.

XNA doesn't necessarily have to die. It is a nice little framework for quick game development. It could be there for those that wish to use it, but also allow native code.

prices are dropping fast. When I was looking to buy a phone the cheapest was over £400 and that was only 8 months ago.

If they can get a £99 W8 smartphone out by Christmas that could be a big win for them.

I'd say by Xmas you could well see the Lumia 710 for that price.

Even at £150 it's a pretty good step into smartphones.

I doubt that Mass Effect game would run worth a crap without access to native code.

They can get Dead Space running on WP7. ME looks better, but still.

My point is MS doesn't seem to care from the gaming side. Who was it that said "WP7 is basically our portable system." Bullshit. No it's not. They give minimal attention to it and it pisses me off because I feel like I'm a girl trying to fall in love with the badass. You keep thinking he'll change, but he never does :(

Nokia to end European production of phones

All of them will now be made in Asia to compete with everyone else

Nokia Corp. said Wednesday it will end the assembly of cellphones in Europe by year-end as it shifts production to Asia in its latest attempt to cushion its finances from stiff competition in the smartphone sector.

The Finnish company said it plans to complete 4,000 job cuts at three plants in Finland, Mexico and Hungary this year as it reorganizes its global manufacturing operations to compete better with the likes of Apple Inc.'s iPhone and handsets using Google Inc.'s Android operating software.

BOOM! Just got me a Nokia Lumia 800. Currently on a £15 contract that I'm happy with, and managed to get the phone for £170. Can't quite find the Micro SD slot the sales guy told me about though :\

Love the phone so far. UI is great, and I can finally ditch iTunes for Zune.

Sorry broski the guy didn't know what he was talking about. There isn't a MicroSD slot on the Lumia line.

The more pictures/videos of the white Lumia 800 I look at, the more I am convinced that it's the best looking phone on the market right now. Well, maybe apart from the cyan one, but I'm kinda used to that by now ;-)

I always thought most other white phones look pretty cheap compared to their black counterparts. This holds especially true for the iPhone 4S and the Galaxy SII. But this just looks so gorgeous, almost like ceramics. Might make a real difference for some people, and could really stand out in shops.

THIS! For smaller indie games XNA is perfectly fine. They don't need to kill it. They just need to offer native code access for those that wish to try and go that route.

I'm looking forward to trying out the 800 and the 900. I want to hold the 900 to see how it fits in my hand. If it feels to big I would maybe go with the 800. Not sure if I want something bigger than my Focus.

I normally like my electronics black but yeah the white Lumia 800 and 900 look amazing. I think it's due to the contrast with the black frame on the screen.

I wish that white version was all white. I like the white color, but I dislike the black border around the screen. I wish that was white too.

PS: I like the Grey and Cyan colors of the Lumia phones the best so far!

Dude. Duuude. You've bad taste.

The white Lumia is like a white Ferrari 458 with a custom black roof.

It doesn't get much better than that.

Haha, make the top more metro then. Either way, I would use it if you built it. :)

heh. When I get more time this week I plan to fully metro it up (and W8 mockups).

They are talking about letting users use their own CSS files for the official mobile app. Hopefuly i can translate my mock up into something usable.

The official webapp looks hideous. I can't go back to the ugly ass iPhone icons. Good thing you can eliminate the icons in the settings for a flatter look. Not quite metro, but better than ios.

This is the way it looks on my phone:

That would be better if instead of the icons it had the big ass letters we all love. But it is still better than the current webapp, wich IMO only looks good on the iPad
