MSN, Skype, Xbox Music/Video, PhotoSynth. What's next to be cut?
Xbox? Phone OS? Phone hardware? Surface?
I think the latter is somewhat safe, but who knows.
I was hyped for a 940.
But now I just want a Microsoft Nexus device with a Windows Phone keyboard.
:negman
You mean the Update 2 that my AT&T 1520 can't get yet?Is Bluetooth ok? Can do that now with 8.1 Update 2.

Developer Preview program my ass :c
For a dead OS without any flagship hardware released for more than a year it's actually quite amazing that it still gains market share.
All without the Nokia brand, as well
Half the sales of iOS in the EU5.

Nowhere close to the revenues though of iOS. I can't imagine Microsoft is making much money if any. That's the important bit.
10 looks to have solid foundations. It's still the elephant in the room, apps. Microsoft I feel just has to go balls deep and spend what they got to do to get the likes of Snapchat on board.
Snapchat would just probably take the money and release an Instagram-like half-assed app that would remain in beta state forever.
Because they are dicks like that.
I think the first step is new, desirable hardware.
While making a massive push for apps at the same time for W10. If they think that the W10 store can succeed without mobile they are very, very wrong.
The moment they ditch phone is the moment they ditch any chance of getting app developers on board.
They should reboot the Lumia name. Ditch the old number scheme. Make it a "Lumia 10" or something. Current continuation with the numbers will just feel old.
Lumia Galaxy S
Lumia Galaxy M
Lumia Galaxy X
Lumia Galaxy XL
You can mail me my check, Microsoft.

The numbers have no meaning except to Microsoft. When people ask what model phone I have they can never remember the number. It has no wow. What the F is a 1020 or 1520 to someone? They should reboot the Lumia name. Ditch the old number scheme. Make it a "Lumia 10" or something. Current continuation with the numbers will just feel old.

I'm of the opinion that they should simplify their offer to 3 phones (normal and XL variants), so they have at least one product for each market tier. This deluge of numbered devices is not making any favors to the ecosystem.

Is 3 enough to cover it, though? I mean, being a big deal in the developing world seems silly now, but being able to support ALL markets could be huge in a decade or so.
I think they need more than three but it needs to be more clear.
Maybe find a word in the Finnish alphabet after Lumia and that be the particular line.
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
-Low end and high end 4" [Name] Mini
-Low end and high end 5" [Name]
-Low end and high end 6" [Name] XL
Specs for the 3 low end and 3 high end should be consistent, apart from the screen size and battery (so RAM, cameras, etc)
And then:
-1020 successor so people will shut up about it
-330 successor so they don't forget the developing world

And the LTE versions, so just like the 640 XL you can have dual SIM and single SIM versions with LTE and 3G. Because that makes sense.
I don't want to go back to Android!!!!
*cries*
Surface Phone (4.7" non-pureview camera)
Surface Phone Pro (5.7" pureview camera)
Surface 3
Surface Pro 3
Surface Mini
It's a pretty simple product line to manage, I'd like my 250k salary now, kthnx.
The Nokia Lumia 1020 is one of those signature devices that have managed to leave a huge mark on the industry. The phone gets a lot of fan love and has gathered somewhat of a cult following since its release back in 2013. Naturally, everyone has been talking about a worthy successor since. A lot has changed with the Lumia lineup and the Microsoft buyout didnt exactly put emphasis on new high-end devices. But there might still be light at the end of this particular tunnel.
If rumors are to be believed, we currently have two high-end successors to the Lumia 930 to look forward to - the Lumia 940 and 940XL. Today we got more proof of that has arrived as we got a photo of the Lumia 1030 front panel.
This tangible piece of evidence brings new hope that the Lumia 1030 hasn't slipped into oblivion and is somewhere on Microsoft's roadmap. However, completely trusting the said images isnt exactly wise either, as we still remember another leak from last year that got us all excited for nothing. And it featured a fully-working unit, not just a sharpie-labeled front panel.
Still, the photos do come for a credible source, so we are willing to give them the benefit of doubt.
