THIS IS NOT PIRACY THREAD I AM ONLY NEED HELP REGARDING WPA!

So I removed & reset my CMOS battery and the computer finally started but now this damn WPA window keeps launching with Windows, is there anyway to stop this? I need the Internet to activate windows but when I select "lets activate windows over the internet" the stupid program doesn't even try to connect.

Is there anyway I can launch my Sympatico DSL before WPA via safe mode? Any other sugestions would help

thanks

So you either call Microsoft to activate windows(probably best thing to do) or reformat and reinstall windows. Don't know what else you can do.

Yup, call Microsoft. The WPA screen should give you the number and your product code. Microsoft has a big phone bank staffed by blood-sniffing monkeys for handling the WPA stuff. They're trained to ask retarded questions that are supposed to catch you in your theivery.

I usually go a little overboard in my explaination of why I'm daring to format and reinstall Windows so they will shut up and give me the activation code.

Wow thanks for the help.

The system is different in Canada, the whole services is automated. You just read your ID to a machine and it gives you the cd key or whatever!

Microsoft Canada rules :D

That's the same in the States. Humans only get involved if the automated system feels that the keycode is already linked to a different machine and they need to sort out if you are using same Windows on multiple computers.
