ok guys....tomorrow's the day.

here's what I want from at least one of you, to not get a tie

-tell me who's being a pain in the ass to reach (if only one of you says that, you'll get the 1-0 win, if both people say that, it's a tie)

- if a game is not commented on, I'll just be doing a tie

- if two people really want to get a game or games in, I will give you an extra day or two, but only if I know from you it's being played.

I cleared my PM box. The rest is up to you. Just know that you can't complain about whatever decisions I make tomorrow. Despite however many ties/1-0 wins I assign, I view this league as a success.

Ok I'm going to be in the lobby starting now. Hopefully I get most of my games in today, and since Fifty wants to start the playoffs tomorrow I'll count the game as a loss if I don't play against whoever I have to play.

The playoffs will probably not start tomorrow, I was just hoping to have the regular season done by then...they'd likely start the next day. Last time I'll say this, but if people have games lined up for tomorrow I won't cancel them. Ok I"m done....I've got other stuff going on besides this league, so I've gotta do it this way.

Sometime tomorrow afternoon I should have the playoff matches set. This is how it should go

Huka and Socreges will be sitting out round 1, NFL style...unless Osorio manages to catch up to Socreges in points tonight

then the #3 seed (Osorio most likely) will face the #6 in a two game series, same as the regular season format

and #4 will face #5


so if I had to guess now (pointless but hey) it'd be Osorio vs Hayami..and Fifty (as a team to be decided) vs Beatbox. That's just a guess ;) Tune in tomorrow.

Because I'm running this thing by myself, it's not going to have a fancy playoff bracket. The matches will simply show up as "Round 13" But I trust you gentlemen will bestow upon week 13 the respect it deserves.

Btw, Fifty, I'm playing Garrick at 11am tomorrow if it matters for you to know. We've had it scheduled for a couple days now.

Unfortunately Im playing Garrick right now and then Ill be busy for the rest of the day (first, some actual soccer to play - intramurals at school). If you'd like, we could play the games between 10am PST and 4pm PST tomorrow, just for kicks. I'd be up for that.

Seed 1 = Huka

Seed 2 = Socreges



Seed 3: Osorio vs Seed 6: Hayami


Seed 4: Beatbox vs Seed 5: Fifty

Important rules below

Each matchup will be two games, as usal. I decided we shouldn't double the worth of away goals, since home/away does not matter in the game. So if you lose 3-1 in game 1, and then win 2-0 in game 2, we'll be going to extra time. Now extra time will be impossible to set up in a game that's not a draw, so if you have an overall goals draw, you will create a new match, and treat it like golden goal.

Awkward as this might be, I think it's totally fair. The length of this extra match should be 5 minutes, with no extra time and PKs, so we're basically simulating a real OT session.


If you have ANY questions...PM me. This really isn't complicated, but whenever I write that much I'm worried someone won't read it.

You will have until sunday night to play But if we finish earlier, I will advance earlier. And yes, I will be using Inter, not Liverpool.

Let's all make an effort to get our games in ASAP so this isn't as anti-climactic as the last one. Poor Srider won, but at that point all interest had been lost.

We've got a good group here....I know it'll go fast. No offense, but Osorio is the only person I'm a little bit worried about, but he seems to be available nowadays, so it's all good.

For the record.....Huka will face the lowest advancing seed, and Socreges the highest. in round 2. Round 2 will work the same as round 1....and the finals will just be one game.

Yeah I like this better. Quick clarification, if after the second game its still a total draw then PKs in the OT game should be turned on right?

Yes, PKs in that game, but no extra time....so if the goals are tied after 2 games, you'll create a 5 minute game with no added minutes, but PKs.

Hmm, just one last thought before I go....I don't know if I'll even have the time, but what about taking advantage of the World Cup and doing some international league or tourny. We have a few options you can mull over

-Call it a day and stop now

-International league (same as this, but with international teams)

-International cup (international teams, far less games)

-Club team league, same as this

Well if there's any time to beat me it's now. After being out of town for a week I felt really rusty which showed in yesterday's matches.

Too bad we cant use the edited option files online. Watson's new one has all the updated international kits, rosters etc.

Just got back...about to play Beatbox


About the world cup, briefly; I really like the idea of using international teams. My only concern is that we wouldn't have enough games. I wouldn't want to do some meager tournament with only 5 games or so in it. Does anyone have any suggestions?

I bet we can get 8-10 people. Perhaps we could have two games (one series) vs every player. The world cup is a month long event that isn't comparable to anything..I think for this to work we should make it our own and make it at least a bit leagueish and not a straight up tourny.

The less people, the harder it is to put together the traditional group format (Group A, Group B, C, D etc, then top teams from each group move onto tournament). Probably need at least 12-14 to make that work, otherwise you're better off just having it regular league style.

Just finished my games with Beatbox. I know it's easy to say they were great games when you won, but I thought they were. I nearly busted my d pad fighting for every goal. Was Shevchenko gray in gm 2? I got lucky with my conditions. Only had a few blues and not a single gray.

Definitely a pair of good games. At least both of us were a bit sloppy in game 1. I actually had to swap joysticks a few times in game 2 from the controller abuse.

After an entire season of getting some of the worst conditioning luck - the tides turned for the playoffs. Only Kaka was blue both games and Shevchenko was blue the second. Nobody else was blue and zero grey dudes. Still couldn't pull off the win. I though I had you on that crossbar shot or the rebound.

I'm in for the World Cup!

I dont think there's going to be any problem with having enough good teams. There are at least 13-14 by my count. As you guys said, it'll be tough to find the players.

Lets see who of the present 12 players can return (hopefully everyone). We can also probably grab guys like Daigoro that missed this round. Maybe Astro could return. Maybe Shinobi has his network set up. And if necessary, we could promote in the Gaming Forum and grab a couple more guys (with the note that they be able to complete two or three games a week).

The World Cup is going to be far fewer games. 6 each maybe, plus the playoffs.

Well here's what we could do. I'm still not sure if I want to dedicate the time to another of these, but if I did..

-12 international teams. Random team draft order

-no player stats unless it's a league. I'm not going to the trouble of adding over 130 players for under 10 games

-I'd split it into 2 conferences of 2 divisions, each with 3 teams. Then you'd play 8 games most likely. one series of 2 against your division mates (4 games) then one game against the 3 people in the other division in your conference (3 games) and then finally one game against a team in the other conference (1 game) for a total of 8 matches before the playoffs. The key to this being a success would be creating even divisions.

ah what the fuck...I've already thought this out enough, might as well do it.

Osorio wins it on OT. man, what an awesome conclusion. Congrats, man.

Games will be the same as round 1. There will be a two game series....and if the goals are tied after 2 games, a 5 minute game with no OT and PKs on will be created to settle it. The two advancing teams will play in one championship game to determine the league winner.

Congrats, Osorio. I can play between 11am - 3pm PST tomorrow (friday), if that works. Maybe a bit later, if necessary. Otherwise, sunday morning/afternoon PST.

Congrats Fifty, that was a heck of a battle man, probably the best challenge Ive had in the league up to this point. Your D was a bit too good for me tonight, I couldnt get anything flowing and Martins was giving me fits on the wing. Well earned.
