I speak the truth.

And to add insult to Taichi's already pathetic existence, Chihaya basically orgasms right in front of him every time anything Arata presence is close. It's hilarious.

We've already had this discussion with how the
"fixed points in time that must always happen"
and which are the crux of the plot are never given a reasoning as to why they are what they are.

Well there's that aspect of the plot, which you must swallow for the story to work at all, but in terms of actually twists it's usually
oh my word THIS person is connected to the conspiracy. And this person. And even THIS person! After a while it becomes a pretty clear pattern - pretty much ever named character, even if they appear to just be a background figure, is secretly linked into the main plot.

ah, that convo; Yeah, I can agree with you on that one. To kind of revisit a bit, that's probably the only one I can agree on, as it basically calls for a subscription to fate as a device and goes from there. Everything else though, I'd say is foreshadowed, even a bit heavily at times.

Doesn't sound that bad. I'll probably still like Fate/Zero's OP more.

I much prefer OP2, I wasn't a big fan of the first season's.

Blood-C Episode 06

Oh, Christ o__o

okay i knew the first twin was gonna bite it pretty soon but holy crap at the last part of the episode. soooo much death.

Let's think for a second, Nishishishishshi can
be the godmother and caretaking aunt, and be around the child
all the time nishishishishishihi'ing.

You'd want that, right? We'd all want that.

True end involves
Sae having implied sex at the movie theater with Junichi and getting preggers in high school only 9 months after the date.

There's still hope they fit it in somehow. You can read my first spoiler to Wonzo if you read this one to you first.
After that School Days genealogy chart, that seems really tame somehow.

I was hoping that this true end would involve something more incestuous.

Umm, quite the...thing?
I dunno. I dunno what to say about this one.
Was it entertaining? Not even that, really. But it was not...not entertaining? Ugh, I give up.
All I can say is "Yup". It's a thing all right. Not a great thing, or a terrible thing, but certainly a, er, thing. That I did not enjoy.
-Character designs by Ebata Risa
-CG-heavy animation production by Satelight
-AKB48 music
-AKB48 voice acting

AKB0048 sure is going to be a "treat" for the senses.

That doesn't even sound bad-funny. That just sounds like bad-boring.

Vampire Princess Miyu TV 19

Someone call icarus:
Lesbians! And slapping!

Vampire Princess Miyu TV 21

Yes, Reiha's backstory was as compelling as I expected. It was told in a unique fashion as well.

I don't understand why anyone would root for Arata over Taichi. It literally blows my mind. He's never around, he has a terrible personality and the accent, oh god.

This is not a love triangle guys. In Touch terms, Arata is basically Kacchan while Taichi is Tacchan.

I'm usually okay with stuff like this because I am too dense to figure this stuff out. The fact that I was ahead of Steins;Gate all of the time may be a testament to its bad writing?

Also yeah, the word I wanted to use wasn't twists. Oh well.

hopefully they bring that shit over asap!

One thing I noticed about Chihayafuru 20 is how little fleshed out Arata is compared to Taichi. He appears almost as more a figure in Taichi and Chihaya's minds than as a truly independent person.

Steins;Gate 25: [...]For all my complaints about the show, the original ending hit the emotional notes it needed to. It wasn't left ambiguous beyond how the characters' futures would pan out; what was important was that we knew they would have a future. So these twenty minutes of mediocrity are not only boring, but also redundant.

I give this special/episode thingy a 2/5.
It's kind of like taking a heavily a plot based show with a fairly finale conclusion where pretty much everything is resolved and then slapping another episode on the end. Of course, I knew that's what it would be when I sat down to watch it, it was literally fanservice so if you like the characters enough it'll probably be okay with you.

This. Arata is a plot device rather than an actual character. He exists for the other two to angst over.

no one should root for arata because he's a shitty boring character.

After that School Days genealogy chart, that seems really tame somehow.

but thats why the niinii specials exist!

I responded to the wrong post.

I was talking about that one with the loli giant skeleton girl that is moe as fuck.
dude you're missing out on some glorious shit

It's like he's the male version of the Queen, even though he's been in the show since the beginning.

I agree. Had the ep taken place much after the
second-confessions
were made, and been largely unidentifiable on the timeline, I doubt many would have had the issues they did. Heck, had it been an omake from the series proper, it would've been better received, I think.

I did a big write-up on this a while back... Nobody reads my breakdowns. brb, I'm going to go cry.

Gyo

Was stupid, boring, and bad. This makes me sad because how do you screw up zombie mechanical fish army vs tokyo? Wasn't scary/creepy or lolz campy. Just slow and standard. I'm guessing the manga is a lot creepier like his other stuff.

Black Rock Shooter 4

Yomi's desperation was amusing. Saya's twisted enjoyment of nurturing the insecurities of the students isn't as amusing though.

Black Rock Shooter - 04

All that angst, all that psychological mindfuck... over making friends...

Which 4 will be harder to watch, Guilty Crown or BRS?

Guilty Crown I can forsee some god tier facepalm cringing moments on the home stretch, BRS... I'd have to overcome the concept that all this silly stuff is about making friends for BRS to be the harder show to watch.

What does her bio says?
If I did this right (because I still have to use a dictionary a lot)

Basically, she's the chairman lady who helped build the Pharos and to use/implement/research the Voxes.

Also, she's referred to as "The Chariman", and is kind of a jerk/arrogant. Also in the PV for next episode, you can see her hand groping Madoka's boob.

Heartcatch Precure - 33

Yuri learned the hardway that friendship is magic.

Cure Moonlight is back!! *fist pump*

I've got to ask, Toei is responsible for the Precure series aren't they? They jump the gun in so many OP's and ED's of their shows so consistantly it feels like it's their trademark.
Next episode is spectacular.

I've heard of reading between lines but I think something is literally missing here!

Steins;Gate 25

Whilst this felt like an afterthought I still enjoyed it, especially the chemistry between Okabe and Kurisu.
Getting to see Suzuhara's mum in the anime was pretty nice.
The engrish was pretty damn funny and Moeka can get fucked for hating on macadamia nuts!!

The credit sequence reminded me of how average the OP was.

Also, i'm excited for the new character in Lagrange this week. Her bio on the site is interesting. Also, she's hnnngghhhh.
not brown enough imo

Inu x Boku SS 7
RcpBF.gif

Couldn't find a gif of her beating things up while eating a lobster.
Really nice episode. I actually thought the dramatic feelings would drag, but it actually flowed pretty nicely. I did like when they showed the other people doing their own things, like Karuta cooking a meal and choosing a lobster to fight with. I do like this revolving door of EDs. It makes me feel like everyone, even the maids would get a ED to sing by the end of the show.

- Because he wasn't a conniving little asshole as a kid, who grew up to be a sexually frustrated, jealous, spiteful teenager; who grew up with every advantage in the world (Taichi: wah, my mom's strict!, wah; Arata: I'm a child laborer, I live in a rundown one room apartment, I have no clothes, I'm by myself most of the time because all the kids at school hate me, and yet, I don't complain, I'm not an asshole, and I'm still a boss).

- Because even after being treated like garbage by his entire class and having no friends, living fairly poorly, and working part-time to help his family, he somehow still had the character to not lash out and oust what a little bastard Taichi was to him to Chihaya

- Because Karata is HIS game

- Because he inspired Chihaya to stop living in her sister's shadow and find something to celebrate for herself; She is what she is now because of him.

- Because Chihaya clearly likes him in a non-friendly way

- Because even after all this time he STILL has the consideration to ask Taichi whether he's involved with Chihaya before doing anything that might suggest he's interested in her

- Because he's considerate and thoughtful

- Because he doesn't see Chihaya as a pet/toy/prize

He's an infinitely more endearing and respectable character than Taichi has been or ever will be. The decision to push him into the background severely frustrates me, but the fact that his presence continues to have the presence that it does shows how strong his characterization is, and how important the creators believe he is to the series. The way his appearances are treated on-screen clearly shows how important a character he is. The entire dynamic of the episode changes when he appears.

Arata's had no characterization done though. He's a thematic device who's been given sympathy-scenes, at best.

*hasn't seen 20, lol

Vampire Princess Miyu TV 22

Miyu's backstory is also compelling. Cuts to the heart of the dilemma of her destiny.

As we enter the final stretch, it's nice to see that the production quality has increased. There were actually extended periods of good animation during the fight sequence.

I've heard of reading between lines but I think something is literally missing here!

20 was a fine episode but I didn't feel like writing anything about it.

So we're assigning behavior and characteristics offscreen now?

Chihaya deciding to make something of her life is a victory for Arata instead of, oh I don't know, Chihaya herself?

He has a presence in the show the same way Kazuya did in Touch and Wakaba did in Cross Game. They exist as ideas, something to strive for and work towards. Nowhere in the show's run (other than when they were grade schoolers) did Arata have any significant character development and/or interaction with the main cast. Are you telling me what happened 10 years ago is more important than what is happening in real time?
