Rumba, Rumba, Rumba, Rumba, Rumba, Rumba~

On we go onto season 2! I won't lie, all that before the opening caught me off guard mostly cause I don't remember it from the manga. But, afterwards this was pretty much a crash course in introducing all the characters again.

By the way, I hear from a lot of people about how Dance in the Vampire bund is some sort of lolicon creepshow. how does it compare to Tsukuyomi Moonphase? I enjoyed Moonphase.

Another 4

Everyone beating around the bush with this whole situation seems counter-productive. They better have a good fuckin reason for not telling Koichi to the point where they're risking people getting Final Destinationed.

Ages ago on GAF I had an animated Moon Phase avatar. It's also how I got my tag originally. On the other hand I want nothing at all to do with Vampire Bund.

That's the difference between the two shows.

Ok. I guess I will avoid Vampire Bund then.
So that's how you got that tag? I should have known.
Also, Seeing as it was a Shaft show, I can tell they cut the budget in places, especially that one episode that was literally a slideshow for half the episode.

But practically no-one likes Wolf's Rain!

Wolf's Rain was great! I love that show!

Usagi Drop 05

I've been starting my weeks with this show because I wanted something that would serve the role my former week-starter, Working'!!, did. Working always brought a smile to my face, so I thought I could replace it with Usagi Drop's cuteness. And this episode had plenty of cute moments, like Rin graduating from preschool.

Still, it's not really like Working. Rin is great, a delightful embodiment of everything nice about kids, but it's more about being a parent, and the emotions that come with it. In that respect, the more that others surrounding Daikichi appear (like Kouta's mom in the last episode, or Masako in this one), the more interesting it becomes. They give more texture to the happy-happy bubble of the Daikichi/Rin relationship. I hope that stuff keeps happening.

It was also interesting reading about reactions to Nise 4 just before seeing a much classier show do a much classier man-bathes-with-child scene.

I kind of agree with you that they should apply the tech a bit more than just talking about it, but they are starting to. I think it will start to have a better pace from here on out.
Its one of those slow burning series, but I can really see it "taking off" at this point.
Now that they are accustomed to the ship and how it functions, the real fun can begin. But I appreciate them taking the time to set things up, thats all.

Whether this was all really setup will depend on whether they actually bother to reference any of this technology in future episodes :p I'm hopeful that the show is just having a slow start, I really don't want it to be episode 10 and they're just now getting on with the pirating.

By the way, I hear from a lot of people about how Dance in the Vampire bund is some sort of lolicon creepshow. how does it compare to Tsukuyomi Moonphase? I enjoyed Moonphase.

There's some loli nudity that's pretty blatantly meant to be titillating, but it's not very common. The more pressing issue is that it's just consistently really boring.
I bought it to support more SHAFT series being licensed for NA

I don't know how it could be any more up front than Moonphase was. It wasl ike Moonphase knew that Hazuki was a loli and it revelled in the fact. Vampire Bund seems to be a very similar kind of show, except that it sexualizes al oli even more. It gets to be a slippery slope. But At least Tsukuyomi went about it matter of factly I guess. I'm not gonna lie, when I found out that Moonphase had a vampire girl who likes to wear cat ears, I was fucking sold. It didnt matter if it was a loli. Its about DAT NEKOMIMI.

They redid that episode for the dvd release.

I really should stop outing myself like that.

Vampire Bund slips down the slippery slope and lands face-first into whatever abyss exists at the bottom of the metaphor. Trust me, it's more upfront. Unless you find vampires to be inherently HNNNNNG, there's really nothing cute or innocent about the series. Not even nekomimi. Mina Tepes is pretty much all about being an adult in a child's body with a penchant for nudity.

Mouretsu Pirates 1 - I'm a sucker for these type of shows. (so I'll probably watch more) but all I'd say is the show is really terribly paced as far as I'm concerned, and everything else is pretty damn average, hope it gets better.>:

If I'm not way late: Xposting some more BONES news from the gaming side. Between this and their stuff with Guild01, they have life. Not Star Driver, people.

Maybe I misread his post but wasn't duckroll saying the other day that Bones won't be doing the animation for either game now?

I read the manga, never watched the anime. If you can get past the creepiness in the first volume, its nearly non-existent afterwards.

I think the Mangaka is on break for awhile now, haven't seen any new chapters translated.

You weren't the only one. I did the same thing and duckroll told me I needed to learn how to read :(

What he said was that BONES is seemingly having trouble getting around to making new anime shows, and that they're stuck doing work for Level 5 on various games now.

Well his post is poorly worded! The way its written makes it sound like Level 5 is taking over the animation for those games because Bones was having trouble getting their new shows done.

In any case, it might be bad for Bones but it will be pretty sweet for AA fans.

Moeretsu pirates 2 - The OP is awesome (fuck the haters) and the last few minutes were pretty damn awesome, however the show still has bad pacing zzzz. Only two more episodes to catch up on.

Nise 4

Beginning half: Koyomi's sisters are bitches. Also, Kaiki's involved? That can only mean good things going forward.

Latter half: This feels wrong... Although that extended lifespan comment was something totally expected.

According to Yaraon, the Fate/Zero BDs will have 40 minutes of extra footage.

I think that 40 minutes includes all the reanimated sequences, additional scenes, and the extra animation thing that Nasu is supposed to have wrote. Episode 1 will have over 100 cuts reanimated for the BD Box. Which should amount to several minutes.

Freely admit I never would have thought shows like these would cost so much.
Bwahaha, oh man I missed this:

Pumpkin Scissors 2007/03/31 $780,000

I actually liked Pumpkin Scissors, but seriously, 3/4 of a million dollars...

Wha? I know that anything Bones sold really well in NA back then, but that's insane.

I just picked up the entire dvd set for $10 new at a local store the other week. Methinks ADV didn't sell as many copies as they were expecting to.

How big is Chiaki Omigawa's role in Space Pirates?

Not big at all. She's a minor character in the maid cafe where Marika works.

Wow, that's... a lot of wasted money. :/ Then again they licenced the Comic Party OVA for next to nothing.

ADV sucks at haggling. Ah, My Goddess 2 and The Wallflower for half a million? Guyver 2006 and Tokyo Majin for $700,000? Wow, really?

No comment on Air Gear.

Why do you want me to watch garbage?

Well it might worth watching just to see what Ayumu can do outside of Doraemon. Although presumably Space Bros will be his better show. Speaking of which, kind of weird that he is suddenly directing two anime projects in one season after years of only doing Doraemon.
