Spoilers

Reverse reincarnation, Indefinite Quantum Choice Presentation Technique, The power to change causality - this serious business shit has entered lulz territory. How am I suppose to take any of this seriously when it's delivered so forcefully in such a manner? Don't get me started on the very premise and delivery of this series since the beginning. It's actually maddening that I predicted this to happen because every time we're in Moera, the threatening mood is totally not there despite the frail attempts at one. I thought maybe it was just my imagination, they were just using Moera to resolve real world shit, and I was willing to give them the benefit of the doubt that this plot was purely lighthearted wish-fulfillment, yet the drama this episode says otherwise to my dismay...

I just wonder how
Also, why don't they just beg for them to not put a student in that class?

This is explained during episode 4. It's explicitly stated that they have a new principal who doesn't believe in that stuff and Class 3 was most convenient to place a transfer student in at the time Kouichi arrived.

Anyone watched Macross Zero or Frontier? I'd like to hear some impressions about them.

I have watched both. I don't know how familiar you are with the Macross franchise, but they put different spins on the same core theme - love, singing and transforming plane robots.

Macross Zero is like the Arjuna version of Macross - indeed, Arjuna plays on a TV set in one of the episodes. Your enjoyment will depend on your fondness for the original Macross (as this is a prequel and fills in backstory on one of the main characters of the original show) and your tolerance for slightly wanky spiritualism.

Macross Frontier, in the meanwhile, is super-mainstream - all flash and J-pop, with a rather convoluted and possibly ridiculous plot and a large varied cast of characters to appeal to all and sundry. Definitely "brain off" viewing, but definitely not without its highlights, particularly any sequences to do with singing.

Both are technically sound, although if you dislike CG both make heavy use of it.

I enjoyed both, although it's not cool to admit that for either show.

Another 05

Man I would be pissed if I was now getting ignored by everyone.
But then I would probably see how far I could push it by throwing paper at people, shooting spit balls, playing music in class, flipping skirts or touching boobs lol

Thinking a second about the last 2 episodes and the fact the people in class (and the teachers and other people as well) do believe the story about the curse, I'm surprised Sakakibara didn't get an ass beating from the
nurse's brother
or the families of the other victims.

I guess that's because that would be acknowledging the curse exists. I mean obviously they do anyway since they talk about it amongst each other countermeasure wise. But anytime one of them goes into more detail they seem to die so I guess it's not a risk to be taken.

I can't speak to the quality of The Law of Ueki, but just seeing the images linked pains me. I can't imagine what it looks like in motion.

Dear GAF, I'd like to ask if there is any difference between this Complete Brick Shrink Set compared to the individual dvds in terms of content? I just want to be sure, hoping to hear from anyone especially those who have purchased Gate Keepers dvds before. =[

http://www.dvdtalk.com/reviews/30289/gate-keepers-complete-brick-shrink-set/

Based on the review here, I would say it sounds like as far as actual on-disc content goes, it's not short of anything, and has quite a number of extras features.

I haven't seen the original text for this, but saw this translation flying around. I really hope there's some mistake...

The setting is "Earth" in the year 2025 A.D. The story is about Ao and his friends fighting against monsters known as Secret. "Generacion Bull" (sp?) is a private military company in the business of defeating Secrets, and they have assembled IFO (Intelligence Flying Object) pilots with great skills - all of which are girls. Supposedly, only females can pilot robots... except for AO, who is special.

The first new character shown is a 16 year old girl from France called Flair. She's the leader of Team Piped Piper, and sees Ao as a rival. The second new character is a 15 year old girl from America called Elena. She's a geek girl and little bit of a klutz, also a member of Team Piped Piper.

The effect of Yoshika's life on other witches.
Mature Perrine saying nice things about Yoshika!
New witch looks up to Yoshika but disagrees on making personal judgments to go against orders?

Man I don't want to wait a year to see this. ;_;
May have to ponder plane tickets.

Looks awesome <3

Have they changed Perrine's seiyuu or did she always sound like that? She sounds kind of different. Also Lynette <3

Ohhhh yeah, that's right. Totally slipped my mind. Thanks!
Anyone watched Macross Zero or Frontier? I'd like to hear some impressions about them.

Also, Zetman anime airing this April; is there a list of what series will be released this Spring?

Basically what has already been said. I enjoyed Frontier, and though the CG was decent/passable (though it was shitty in the first movie to the point that I saw aliasing on one of the models). If anything, it features a full soundtrack, including the pop songs, by Yoko Kanno, and though it kinda gets more cheesy as it goes on, I wouldn't say it's something to avoid at all. It was fun to watch, and I enjoyed the speed and scope of the space battles just as much as I enjoyed the music.

Also, I was on team Ranka.
;_;

This all being said, if you can/want to just watch the movies for Frontier, I found them to have a much better second half of the show than the TV anime did, and the first one isn't all that bad.

I messed up actually. It's Pied Piper.

So... it's real? Huh.

I wonder why this is even a Eureka Seven sequel? What happened to the LFOs? And the old nations returned awfully quickly, although that detail had already been mentioned before.

Thanks! Time to cough up the cash.lol

Chihayafuru 18

The thing I liked the most about this episode is the various ways they are showing how Karuta is played, although one could say the Queen is on the hax level unless someone can break down her style of play ala Desktomu.

fucking otakus
Damn them! Ruining good things.
New information on what E7AO really is:

Please, someone kill me now. :(

I guess it's time I started walking towards that cliff with you.

You're thinking about that but not about how now they seem to have a Japan and a France and an America?

Edited my message... Anyway, the old nations existing again was one of the first details confirmed about this right when it was announced.

You're thinking about that but not about how now they seem to have a Japan and a France and an America?

Well, the weirdest part about this entire thing is that:

a) This takes place in 2025 AD on Earth, 13 years in the future from now. So the parts about there being real world countries and stuff makes sense.

b) This is also supposed to be an official sequel to the E7 TV series, and Ao is the son of Eureka and Renton. Nirvash "recognizes" Ao as "Eureka".

A and B doesn't add up in any way. It's illogical and nonsensical. Something is really fucked up about this.

There is one single thing that would make me lose all hope for Ao:
the Secrets being CG; their design in the manga seems perfect for it...

If Mizuhata is working on the series, they might not be CG. Anyway, the only way the plot can really make sense how is if
the "world" in E7AO is a VR simulation of some sort, where someone is trying to learn about the history of our world or some nonsense like that. Lolz.

That'd be kinda horrifying.

It just keeps getting worse and worse.

I think we can all agree that whatever E7AO does, we'll be there to watch it stumble around and die with baited breath. I love BONES disaster shows!

Damning interview with Kamiyama: http://www.productionig.com/contents/works_sp/02_/s08_/index.html

The Ghost in the Shell TV series inherited many aspects from Director Oshii. I didn't try to distinguish myself from Director Oshii, Instead, I totally tried to copy him.

By nature, I like emulating others. I try to be like some that's well admired. If I was a fan of some band, I'd be copying everything they do, even their clothes and hairstyles. I'm that kind of person.

Bakemonogatari 6

Thank you based harem God we have gotten out from under the weight of the snail arc.

I legitimately enjoyed this episode. Someone new was introduced, and their background was explored through entertaining interaction with other people. The visual cuts in each conversation serve to highlight the emotional states of the characters, and the writing feels pretty breezy. And it ends with a burst of actual animation, and some real mystery.

Where the hell was this show? Why did they make me sit through some inferior knockoff for three episodes? The pacing is so much better here than what I previously experienced.

On an unrelated note, there's a throwaway gag at the end of episode 2 where it is revealed that
Araragi became heavier due to crab shenanigans
, but it doesn't seem to be an issue at all afterwards. Is that just solved offscreen?
