While it was funny, I think the fact I killed it when I kept it going until, what was it agin, September. Though it seems only when my avatar reflected a Nintendo game (New Leaf and Wind Waker) that people had major beef.
Though I have some fun Haruka ones I made last year that don't look dodgy despite their source.
Though I have a feeling people may have assumed my current avatar is from a doujin but it's actaully from this.

The bombardment of thrillers on TV is actually what made me turn to anime in the first place. I just needed to watch something completely different no matter the quality.

Strike The Blood has had its fair share of boring episodes, but has at least some good arcs and magic. The haremy stuff is too generic.
I agree with Tokyo Ravens.
That episode was also blatantly written with non-chronology in mind, which is a medium mismatch. Everyone standing around talking, explaining or shouting out every last detail.

BGBW makes me feel inadequately English, despite being born here. His willingness to make intrinsically, and perhaps confusingly British jokes and references, while viewing anime through the lens of our culture are things that don't occur to me. I can finally relate to the people that consider themselves "bad Jews".

I deliberately try not to post Britishisms. It's an international thread; we have a few non-native speakers and people speaking different kinds of English, and it's like talking to yourself if no-one understands you.
Witchcraft Works 1-7
I fully admit to only watching this because duckroll and wonzo are. I started off really rather enjoying it - it's well paced, every episode has something dramatic happening, and it's decently animated - but the past couple of episodes have left me a bit cold. I feel a bit as if the story has run its course already and it's just treading water until the end of the show now.
Plus I could do without the younger sister character being unsurprisingly anime-ish about being a younger sister...

Catching up. About to hit the crazy, I think. Hopefully there'll be a bit more budget in some of the upcoming episodes?
Noragami 2-3
A solid action anime with no surprises and a lot of competency. Which is nice. I look forward to the female lead potentially doing something useful rather than always needing protecting, however.

Occasionally I notice something I say is particularly British and wonder if I should change it so that Americans will be more likely to "get" it. Then I realise the alternative is phrasing it in a specifically American way and I'm like "fuck that, if they don't get it they can just look it up like I do when they post weird American things".
Plus I feel like there are enough British people here who might get a kick out of the reassurance that they're not alone =p
At any rate, you're certainly not going to catch me writing "aluminum", "math" or "mom". Unless I'm making a "your mom" joke. Those are universal =p
(I have found myself writing "mother" specifically to sidestep the "mum"/"mom" issue on occasion, though. I always feel vaguely dirty afterwards.)
And this was the winning design.
I can't remember when my Britishness was picked up on. I mean I can't exactly change my odd sense of humour to cater to a universal audience but I do like to think most of what I write can be understood by all. I mean if the Hairy Bikers* can cope in Japan I think I'll do OK.
*This is a show about two Northern chefs. They currently have a show where they are travelling to far eastern countries.

Poor Marine, she didn't even get a chance to try out a catchphrase of her own this time, because by the time Blossom did her patience-snapping thing, she'd already been
! ...For some reason I find it vaguely amusing that this episode's Desatorian had an ability on par with the ultimate ability of the second-in-command of the enemy forces in GoGo. And she treated it as a last-resort ability that endangered her own life!
I guess it's only fair for the monsters of the week to have some pretty OP abilities this time around, though, because as we discovered this episode, the Cures themselves have quite the arsenal of crazy power-ups up their sleeve in the form of the Heart Seeds they've collected. This time Blossom used one that gave her crazy super speed. I can't wait to find out what all the others do!
This episode's focus side character was a camera-loving girl named Kanae - basically this series' equivalent of the venerable Masuko Mika from Yes. I hope she becomes a recurring character, because curious cameramen chasing after the Cures are always entertaining. Oh, and I loved Tsubomi's grandmother in this episode, she didn't bat an eyelash when Kanae came to see her looking for a Precure scoop. Flawless deception.
