The combat scenes are so much better, it's not even funny. And it's just me or they've toned down the fanservice? (There's still a lot, but at least there isn't a bath scene every 3 minutes).
I counted about the same amount of butts on both seasons. As for the first point, AIC does use a lot more CG on witch close-ups but their art is generally better.
As someone who at least semi-regularly keeps up with anime, I'm just surprised you hadn't even heard of it. I mean even if your only exposure to anime-related news is this thread, you'll surely have seen people talking about it. I mean, it made it into the top 10 for AOTY two years in a row. That and it's based on a massively popular franchise that people that hate modern anime like.
Well, in my defense I've only really been active in the anime community since 2012. 2008-2010 I was in Brazil and away from everything. The only anime I even discussed while I was there was Dragon Ball Z and Saint Seiya.

Well, the first season had more money shot cuts, which S2 kind of lacked. The best animated scenes are all in S1 like Shirley's supersonic trip, the Eila x Sanya fight or the hairporn cuts etc..
I can't express how well they treated this episode ... a big part of the events of this episodes are kinda fillers and a big part kinda isn't but they mixed it so well that if you haven't read the book you trully can't see what was stated and what wasn't with some masterfull forshadowing .
So end of book 4 , start of book 5, new arc is starting and a lot have happenned.
First , lenessia .
Her range of expressions in this episode was magnificent , seeing her poutting and unable to counter crusty "mind reading" was great.
Second ,serara .
It's a shame that serara won't join log horizon ( it's not a spoiler anymore now )
but her attitude toward nyanta was again great.
Third akatsuki , that surprised reaction at the end was superb.
Fourth , Minori
There is a lot of things in this episode for her but the most intresting is that she is changing her subclass ! what will she pick ?
You could almost have confessed but starting next week the fearsome battle between minori & akatsuki will start and that won't be pretty.
So then great episode and great character develloppement for everyone , but now it's time for the fall arcs so :

This was a lot less good than the previous special. No landlady, no talking Ume-sensei etc.
Plenty of Hiro x Sae and wide however so I'll take it. Yuno was less cute in it too.
So we end the arc with a grand ball and not going to lie, kind of wanted to see the Goblin King die in a grand battle but I am willing to bet the budget was just not there for it. At any rate, yea, this was pretty much ship tease porn and also a decent example of how to use your time skips to move along the plot. We also see the seeds for the next arc being planted as the West is beckoning. It really doesn't feel like we only have three episodes left.
I tried to steel my heart the best I could before starting this up, because I knew eventually my eyes would water or my throat would tighten at the events that would soon unfold. As expected the graduation ceremony was painful to watch, as you witness Yuno trying her best to keep herself together while Miyako is putting on a brave face to be strong for the both of them
which ends up failing.
But it was not that scene that got me, it was what followed:
Since the start of her introduction, I slowly but surely became a Sae x Natsume shipper. Sae x Hiro definitely works without a doubt, but Natsume with her tsun appeal along wtih her talented VA made her character so endearing that I just couldn't help but favor her over Hiro. So to see her crumble before the love of her life with the realization that she won't have to pleasure to see her everyday cut me deeper than I could ever imagine. It was both beautiful and heart wrenching and I found myself having to pause for minutes at a time in order to collect myself.
Sad scenes aside it was still very enjoyable to watch the series overall is definitely in my top 10.
This episode was awesome. The joke variety was wiiiiiiide, and basically all of it funny. Yuri was on point with Aikawa asking Yui for a picture of her. This is what happiness is made of. Aikawa's friend group is on track for full integration into the insanity, which is very welcome and partly what fueled the variety. Also that Engrish "Lucky girl" line read had a level of commitment to it that I was not ready for.
I don't know if the few remaining episodes could all be this good, but what if they were?
aaaaand that's the last time I try to catch up on four days of missed posts at once. God damn all it takes is a bit of outside perspective to see just how fast this thread moves. And recognize just how goddamn distant I am from the thread culture.
By the way, Shokotan wants an Olympics figure skating anime by A-1 with Aoi Yuuki voicing Mao Asada, Rie Kugimiya voicing Yuna Kim, Yuko Miyamura voicing Yulia Lipnitskaya, and Megumi Ogata voicing Yuzuru Hanyu.
Oooh. I was literally just yesterday discussing how anime needed an ice skating/figure skating show. It would be a great idea and I would totally watch it.
And that's why anime must reject the 3D CGI future; because all the people who are pushing it will just abandon it at the first sign of the next big thing
I dunno where it can go from here though. 3d CGI should stick around for a good while. I could only really see it going back to hand drawn from here in some sort of backlash.
- The dragon made of flame in the OP for the Lodoss TV series (not the crummy dragons that slide across the screen - the one with the awesome animation).
Great episode and as always I didnt want it to end. This show and Golden Time are going to hurt when they end :'(. Especially this show since it's apparently not very popular in Japan, but it is over here. Where it matters :'(
Next episode seems like we have harem hijinks for Shiroe. I don't mind, he hasn't been centerstage in a while. I didn't like all the people talking shit about him this episode, poor shiroe

Good episode. Between the admiring plebs, and Kirche Louise catfights this will be good.
Saito a shit though. HOW DUMB CAN YOU BE.
Sword sounds like a bro.

in my romantic comedies, but as usual, Shaft knows how to make it enjoyable. I've also never really commented that I like how the "roles" are reversed with the boy having the lock and the girls having the key.
Also this gives me an excuse to pimp the Dragon Half manga. If you liked the anime like I did then read the manga if you get the opportunity because it's better and is actually a complete story.
