This has been, by FAR, the darkest, most depressing episode of Hajime no Ippo I have seen. Did Morikawa plan this arc while having Grave of the Fireflies on repeat? Now, nobody's died, so it isn't quite there, but I'd never imagine I could get even the slightest Requiem For a Dream vibe from watching this god damn show (not the subject matter, rather some scenes' tone and visuals)

have sex with him while he was passed out so she could use some of his power. You would think they were leading up to a kiss as a powerful magic transfer but went straight for the gold.

It was a bit surprising to say the least.The ED is a bit too catchy and one of the few 'idol' or j-pop songs I've heard that I genuinely like. I wouldn't listen to it outside of the ED, but I leave the ED each time.

One more episode eh? Looks like the manga isn't terribly far away from where the anime is, so chances are that if there is ever a second season it won't happen for a while.

Pretty good episode. Sometimes it's really noticeable when they got away from the angular faces ugly designs of the characters and make them much more appealing. Also this is the first time I noticed this but Nagisa is looking more and more like a combination of Yui/Ui in this episode in some of the scenes.

Aside from Fate/Zero, I think this is one of the Fate/series that more people like than not. I believe I've heard manga people say that 2wei really cranks it up beyond the first season, though I might be mistaken.

And no i don't know about reality , i doubt it really , maybe it was something done in another time .. my point is that this theme , this setup is present in anime and is not something limited to steinsgate. Steainsgate had a LOT of thing they made up along stuff that isn't possible entirely coated in a light amount of real stuff and events... Ruka status , backstory and motives are no exception and i doubt it was intended to be a study of the effects of gender dysphoria ..... they probably just used an anime trope that was already present in anime and were done with it.

The "raised as a girl" thing does show up every now and then in anime, VNs, and games (Guilty Gear's Bridget is a notable example of that). But it's not super common, and personally, it's not a cliche that I think very highly of, like a way to produce adorable crossdressers that hit an otaku niche without dealing with all the thorny issues of actual gender dysphoria. The most prominent 'real' example of it is incredibly tragic.

I actually like Steins;Gate a lot, in some ways because of how it grounds its mysteries and science voodoo by using real events as a jumping-off point, but even as a work immersed deeply in Akihabara otaku culture, it feels like one of those things that exists primarily to pander to a certain crowd, rather than making sense in the world or with the characters.

I said it with Sakura Trick, but even if it's March in the real world, for Sonico, it's December. Some shades of the mom and pop stores vs megacorporations that played out in YuuShibu were present here, and though the ending was visible a mile off, it still pulled at my heartstrings. Miracle on Sonico Market Street, more or less. Kikuko Inoue's English is pretty decent, too.

The finale will be a New Years' concert, which is how I was introduced to Sonico in the first place. May there be less Russian Roulette murder conspiracies going on with this one.

Yeah, there's a lot of stuff in Steins;Gate that they expect you to just roll with. Ruka's is one of the few cases where that's for the sake of the characters, rather than to keep the plot moving in a certain direction.

I don't care for yuri whatsoever, Golden Time is great but the drama drags it down for me, and D-Frag while great has already established it's a comedy show with inklings of a harem/romcom but I wouldn't consider it that. Witch Craft Works would be the closest thing and I am loving it now that I caught up with it. But unless I completely missed a show this season, these are the ones I recall noticing.

Unless that was an all-encompassing statement which in that case I think I've watched the major romcoms I care about. If people have suggestions I'll welcome them, can't say for sure what I've watched until I look at the anime's entry in MAL. One I never gave a chance to but is pretty high up in my backlog is Lovely Complex. I might watch that then get unto one of the longer running shows like Space Bros or Hajime no Ippo.

But nothing. NOTHING. Comes before Another. Watching that became a necessity after yesterday's gifs.

Kaede and that one other paralegal lady were also in cahoots with the whole plot with Cecil, except the other one died thanks to a higher being. Frankly though, Kaede's was pretty dumb. I mean, really? ONE OF THOSE FACELESS NO FACE GANG WAS MY DAD! I KNOW HE WAS A PIECE OF SHIT, BUT THOU MUST!

Well,, this is definitely much better than GalolEUGH Donna by a margin, even if both shows have no grasp of the legal system... not that the legal system matters at this point.
