Cardcaptor Sakura - Ep. 36
Time to get back to this.I'm really not feeling the new OP and ED.
The episode was alright. It took Sakura quite a while to figure out that the fire card is very good against snow.

March comes in like a lion - Ep. 10
Finally the anime is back on track. That was probably the best episode so far.
That rant at the end was pretty epic and explains why he doesn't want to lose no matter how much the other player is suffering.

What are some good funny or battle animes that came out recently? Trying to find some for my wife.

She loved Psi Kaisi Kusou, Kabaneri, Re:Zero, Mob Psycho and Konosuba.

That Nobunaga no Shinobi short that's still airing sounds like it might be right up her alley. It's only like ~2mins per episode, though, so it's more of a snack.

Rahxephon is something I feel I would like. It's been on my list for a while. When I hear "it's an Eva clone", rather than feeling repulsed I just feel like checking out more.

Cornbread, what OT's are you doing this season? If you aren't doing Konosuba Season 2, I'll do it.

KonoSuba is deserving of a new home. With a fresh coat of paint, or more.

If you think a new thread is warrented, go for it; I won't Kono-block ya.

That's not really true. It does tell additional parts of the stories. I don't think many of them follow on from the end of the S1 stories though. And several of them are my favourite bits.

I was going by MAL's synopsis:
A continuation of Amagami SS, showing what happens after each girl's respective arc. What if Tsukasa were to run for student council president...?

Just start watching now and you'll catch up in no time, lol.

Ok what harem trash is coming this winter? Last season was a bit dry so I need my fix.
Masamune's Revenge, off the top of my head. It's pretty dumb, but there's a meido, a tsundere, an ojou and a class president.

Yup, looking forward to this one! Oh and it starts today!

Synopsis
As a child, Masamune Makabe once suffered greatly at the hands of a wealthy and beautiful girl named Aki Adagaki, who nicknamed him "Piggy" due to his chubby appearance. Seeking revenge against his tormentor, Masamune works hard to improve himself and returns as an incredibly handsome, albeit narcissistic, high school student. When he encounters Aki once again, he is prepared to exact vengeance.

With the aid of the rich girl's maid, Yoshino Koiwai, Masamune slowly begins to build his relationship with Aki, intending to break her heart when the time is right. However, as his friendship with Aki begins to grow, Masamune starts to question the objectives of his devious plans, and if bringing them to fruition is what his heart truly desires.

IMO it's pretty enjoyable. There are moments when it is an Eva clone that knows what it is, and even takes a few subtle shots at Eva. It does bring a few original sci-fi ideas to the table that aren't just lifted from Eva, including a big one about the show's setting.

Log Horizon is the genre that KonoSuba parodies but done right.

Overlord is another damn good one just like LH above.

My Hero Academia is great but is too short and feels a lot like a prologue. Thankfully a second season is coming soon.

One Punch Man is excellent and you can already imagine and appreciate its style if you have watched and liked Mob Psycho.

Noragami is just amazing. I adore its atmosphere like very few recent anime. Also has the greatest soundtrack.

Seven deadly sins is also pretty fun, but its fanservice can get pretty disgusting. If you can tolerate that the rest is fine.

I also have to mention Hunter x Hunter. I consider it the epitome of the battle shounen genre.

When it comes to comedies Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, Joshiraku, Hataraku Maou-sama!, Binbougami and all the seasons of Working (Wagnaria) are some (not so recent) ones I laughed a lot.

Don't worry - no-one much likes OP2 compared to OP1 and OP3, you've only got 10 episodes of these ones.
The second ending is really really good though. Third one is pretty rotten...

Who said Yuri on Ice couldn't sell? How could it not with all the global attention it got, so much so that it crashed Crunchyroll?

Agree. Asimov>Clarke>>>Heinlein.
But in terms of cool titles, Heinlein >> Clarke >>>>>>>>> Asimov. What's the point if your title isn't exciting enough for anyone to want to pick it up in the first place?!
Heinlein and Clarke are both massively popular in Japan with a certain scifi crowd. You can see their influences in a ton of anime and videogames.
For reference, let's see the latest best of all-time poll results from famous S-F Magazine and its 700th issue (magazine that was famous around these parts more recently due to the supposed 'Bioshock inspiration' incident):

SFマガジン700号記念オールタイムベストSF2014年版結果を見て その1 - 異色もん。

SFマガジン700号記念オールタイムベストSF2014年版結果を見て その2 - 異色もん。
http://funkenstein.hatenablog.com/entry/2014/06/09/001851

The first link transcribes the ranks for Japanese 'science fiction' works while the second link shows the same for foreign works (from 1989 to 2014), and in the later to point an interesting example out of it we can see how is certain that Mr. Heinlein's novel The Door into Summer has been in a downward tendency for the last two decades; on the poll results shown within this 700th issue the book was ranked on 9th position, in contrast to previously being the favourite one two times in a row (1989 and 1998), while Stanisław Lem's Solaris has dominated the ranks for the last 10 years.

The aforementioned Solaris by Stanisław Lem, along with Diaspora by Greg Egan and Neuromancer by William Gibson are the current top three.

In the polls present on the 600th issue also figured a list of who were considered (jointly by both the magazine readers and selected Japanese specialised writers) the best foreign 'science fiction' authors, that were chosen as such in the following order; Philip K. Dick, Greg Egan, Arthur C. Clarke, James Tiptree Jr., Stanisław Lem, Robert A. Heinlein, Ray Bradbury, Cordwainer Smith, J.G. Ballard and Isaac Asimov.

Eh, Masamune didn't really seem like a harem since
he shoots down every other girl except for the main girl almost immediately. Plus the story focuses on Aki a lot.
At the most there's another girl and thats it.

Well, people were pretty negative on the show at least 5 weeks so I wouldn't necessarily call it 'over hyped'.

I meant hype before anything had aired. I know opinions were mixed for the first few episodes but episode 3 was interesting enough to keep me watching. But around the halfway mark I was so far down the rabbit hole I figured I might as well see it to the end.

God, I love the first IBO ending song. Somehow reminds me of Cowboy Bebop, even though it's not even that close.

So far 8 episodes in. Great show!

Started watching Chaika. On episode 8. I'm really enjoying this and wondering how the series only has a 7.47 on MAL.

The first ending song is powerful, but I don't think it's remotely close to The Real Folk Blues, haha

Might actually be separate rating but either way it should be mentioned that season 2 is fairly weak and has a weirdly, insanely rushed ending while meandering beforehand.

Guess it depends on your definition of harem. Multiple named girls in the cast like him at some point, but he doesn't pay them any real attention. It's the same as Monogatari and SAO in the "is it a harem if he only likes one of the girls/in a relationship with one of the girls" category.

They run out of time in the second season which leads to a very rushed and unfulfilling ending. Ruined the show for a lot of people. Plus they end up creating an extremely over powered character in Fredricka and end up having to hilariously write her out of most scenes to keep any real tension going. The road up to that is good for the most part though. It's a guilty pleasure of mine, bought both seasons on BD.

Two of my favorite "harems" where the best girl stays winning...

I'm game!
