Winter Cometh

For most of my life I lived in the middle of nowhere in northern ontario. Much of last year I was staying at my brother's place, and he lives down a road that barely ever gets plowed. Also his driveway is so huge you can't shovel it by hand, need the quad to plow it. And the only source of heat at his place is a wood stove.

This year will be my first winter in toronto, I'd imagine it won't be nearly as rough as what I'm used to. Still hate winter driving though, fortunately I won't have to do very much except for around christmas when I need to drive 4-5 hours both ways to visit family. Got my snow tires on last week just in case - last winter I would have been stranded on multiple occasions if I didn't have those.

Honestly, I liked winter until the first time I had to drive in snow. Now I hate it. Cold doesn't bother me and I certainly prefer it over summer heat.

Come on! Who can beat Minnesota Gaf for worst weather this week? We've got three days with snow and highs in the teens!

Its going to be a shity week, but its only the beginning.

Hooray MN GAF.

It was like mid 80s here today. I opened my windows.

It was in the 50s today.
I opened my windows.
And had a fan going.

It's in the 30s now.
Most of the windows are closed, since it's night time. But, the one next to me is still open.
The fan is off, but I'll be turning it on when I go to sleep.

I live in very low income area, one of the coldest in the country, and our electric rates are soon almost going to become double the highest (non-Hawaiian) rates in the entire country, and my apartment is entirely electric heat.

I honestly have no idea how I'm going to afford to live this winter. I'm a bit concerned.

Currently working sitting in my truck, Northern Alberta, temperature is -13 C feels like -20. Going to be my least favorite thing about moving here.

where you staying at? Here in SoCal, if WI can get weather that will dip into the 50s this year, I maybe able to pretend like I experienced winter :(

El Paso, TX

I feel for you socal bros because I know even in December and January you never really get winter. Even here in the dry desert we get a little snow annually. Goes down to 30s.

Oh FFS. I hate Winter. Mostly cause I hate being forced to wear a jacket. I hate jackets. Here's hoping it freezes Memphis and gets me out of class for a day. I could use the break. Silver lining, give it to me.

I love winter I just wish it didn't overstay its welcome. Anyway, at least until the year is over I'll be hoping for snow and a white Christmas.

Yeah this is really my problem with winter, too. If it wasn't six months of winter here and the other half of the year shared between all of the other seasons it would be a lot nicer.

I don't mind winter too much. The extreme cold sucks, but average winter isn't bad and snow looks nice.

I just hate driving in the winter when it's shitty, so I don't go out much. That and shovelling when it's everyday. A couple times a week is fine.

got a lot less snow then expected in the twin cities. got sleet instead, which is just as bad in a way. slippery roads that are freezing tonight through tomorrow as the colder air moves in. drive carefully =)
