Okay, so, two things to start: First, this middle section I have been too harsh upon. As a child, I may well have found Asemu vs Zeheart a compelling story, the way I did Sora vs Riku. The other is that I cannot understate my hatred for Flit Asuno. He literally just told his son "I am not your dad." Having the grown man pilot get blushy over the newly introduced moe 12 year old mechanic girl was not the highlight of the episode.
I think anime fans should watch School Days. I just think they should know what they're getting themselves into beforehand instead of being "tricked" into watching it. It serves well as a case study of just how evil and fucked up anime can be.

It probably was when it was out, but I saw so many mecha animes that I can't see its originality so far. Though it certainly isn't a bad anime. I just ned to go further than ep1 to find out what it really is.

Well I was fully aware it was the joke recommendation but I did like going in without any prior knowledge apart from that. Made the ending all the sweeter.
I'd say the show is more effective against newcomers since they won't recognise any of the obvious signs like the dead eye.
Well the economics is still there but Spice and Wolf S3 this is not. There is just no chemistry between Yuusha and Maou. Yuusha is far too dense and Maou is just not playful enough. I'll keep with it but I feel like I was sold a bill of goods.
I just remember annoyance. Annoyed that I was watching selfish idiots doing selfish idiotic things. Am I the only one who get annoyed when people doing really stupid things that go against all logic?

How good is Monster? I mean I could recommend Kill Me Baby in all ignorance because I decided to take a wild stab in the dark and guessed it's as good as Monster. It might be, it might not be. You'll never know until you watch it.

This was kinda me. I raged in some of my impressions at the characters, especially Makoto. I was especially worried he'd get off scot-free without having to answer for the vile cowardly bullshit he was pulling.
YES. YESSSSSS!! That's so good! HER BODY CAN'T FILL THE SWIMSUIT!! That's so hot I think I'm gonna pass out. fffffffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuckkkk

00 did things pretty well the first arc being a realistic take ( gundam related ) on geopolitical matters was a breath of fresh air . fromthe start you see the identity of the 00 anime.
G.Age failed on that aspect big time.
Surprise, I was a teenager once who knew teenagers. No one was as stupid as the cast of School Days. This was putting a gun in your mouth and pulling the trigger to see what happens stupid.
This is why the ending made me happy. At least the authors gave me that.

Monster is THE anime. it is quite long with its 73 episodes, but what makes it so special id that every character is very deep. The anime is a thriller sometimes dark, sometimes light, frightening at some points... It's very intense emotionally speaking.
The scenario is excellent with a lot of reveals and surprise and the OST is excellent too.
That's how good Monster is.

because Earth was the source of conflict. It was twisted, well-intentioned, and I've never felt he was serious. Like, I always thought
Zechs'
real goal was to make the people of Earth prove they really wanted peace.
Rau wanted to eliminate humanity
but he was mentally ill.
Durandal wanted to enslave humanity,
but only to prove the previous villain was wrong and that humanity could be saved. Char seems evil but how do you hate a guy as suave as Char?
Meanwhile, in Gundam AGE you have the Vagan, who in spite of being lame-ass Martian Successor copies, just want to live somewhere nice. They're waging a war of attrition, sure, but let's look at our so called Savior, shall we? God Complex aside, Flit has preached for forty years that the Vagan are NOT human, despite knowing they ARE (the people who did that in Nadesico were cast in a VERY negative light). Flit is in love with a girl who has been dead for forty years, and is not in love with his wife, who I assume he married so he could keep her technologically advanced grandfather on board his Gundam project. He's withheld his AGE System and Gundam technology from the Federation for the sake of making his son special. This same son he is actively shaping into a killer, while he neglects his daughter and wife entirely.
Maybe he hasn't yet reached the level of violent insanity of the villain of Gundam SEED, but in a way, knowing that Flit is entirely sane while he does all of this is somehow worse. It's like Moff Tarkin next to Vader. Sure, Vader is evil and full of black magic, but Moff Tarkin is an ordinary, sane guy who orders a planet blown to smithereens. So yeah,
Rau Le Creuset
is insane, but Flit isn't and is still planning a war that if victorious, will end in either genocide or subjugation.
Do you mind expanding on this, as from my memory Monster is often painstakingly slow and drawn out, while Baccano! is a lot more frenzied and fast-paced.

Exactly .. you nailed it. Pretty much a good way to see things .. but you're underestimating gundam age hability to make things worse. you haven't reached the half point yet

Well the only real similarity is that Baccano! and Monster take place in western settings with antique architecture. Not a lot of anime are similar to Monster, really.
Oh, I thought of another one. Watch Gunslinger Girl(only season 1).

To be fair, there is not a single authority figure to speak of in School Days. The cynical approach of the show towards teenage relationships seems to stem from the fact they are basically living in an anarchic society with no checks on these dumbfucks. It's not realistic in the slightest, but the show is not trying to portray a very believable depiction of, well, anything.
Went fishing all day today. Weather was nice, but water level down here is pretty high.
Didnt catch a fucking thing but we saw a few alligators and lots of egrets.
Now I sit down to a nice steaming hot bowl of homemade wonton soup. Life is good. Everything is awesome.
Why would he though? No one really thinks duckroll sucks, duckroll is an adorable member of AnimeGAF. We should focus on how stupid the poll was, instead of making duckroll feel sad!
I was telling cajunator that he'd really love this episode since it's focused on Sawako. I'd have to say though, Mio had the better outfit, I'd even say Yui did.
All great shows. I was thumbing through DTB manga at the bookstore and first impression was that the anime did the better job. Have you seen Leon: The Professional? More, like season two tho.
