Toradora! stuff.

Just wanted to say that this is an excellent post, and while I loved Toradora!, I can absolutely admit that it had problems, and I agree with a lot of what you pointed out. Especially in regards to Minori not telling people what the hell her problem is, all for the sake of the plot. That and Kitamura. I could never figure out just why the hell Taiga, or anyone for that matter, liked him. He was almost completely devoid of any sort of personality. Which is really kinda strange, since Minori (despite her flaws) was fairly well written in that regard.

But yeah, I guess my biggest issue with Toradora! was that most of the conflicts and problems in the series were caused by misunderstandings and perceived slights. The sort where if people took five minutes to just fucking talk, everything could be solved. But then, I've noticed this in several Japanese dramas, anime and otherwise. It just seems to be a thing they do.

But yeah, great post. I really enjoyed reading it. :D

Moe.

I will say, as seemingly the lone complainer, this is how I would like the show to be paced - especially if they're not willing to actually take the time/budget to go into the lives of the opponents that they face.

Although, the ending makes no sense since they basically revealed that
the characters don't speak English earlier. Continuity error for the sake of a good ending to the match I suppose. lol
Oh, and I guess related to that, Engrish alart, Engrish alart!

And the actual ending of the episode was hilarious because of all that it implies.
Arata got that swagger, bro.

Does a giant foot come down and crush someone? Or do they end up fighting in WW1?

I have always wondered why Japanese speak so awful english. Just watched some korean drama last week (Iris 2 ftw) and they speak so much better english.

My anime club sucks :(

They didn't really like JoJo's Bizarre Adventure.

I have fun with Jojo, but I could see why some people wouldn't be fond of it.

Speaking from a newcomer face-value level, as I haven't read any of the material. I don't know how it's doing as an adaptation and if that affected their perception of the anime or not.

Everyone has such bad experiences with anime clubs, lol. I enjoy hanging out with the people in mine, and we're watching Nodame Cantabile and Tsuritama.

Hah, that's random.

There are probably a lot who can... it's just the actors that are bad at it. lol
I'm more shocked at why they don't just pay a random English teacher off the street 5 bucks to proofread their script. :p

I heard that the Korean language matches English more than Japanese does. Something to do with phonetics, but I don't speak either Korean or Japanese so I don't know for sure.

No, thank you! After all, It was all the earlier discussion that made me aware of the series again. And because it really seemed to resonate for you (amongst others), I had that in mind whilst writing all that. I'm glad you took the time to read it!

Have you read the LN's at all? I'd be curious to know if the characterization is any different.

I've clearly overblown my image.

I'd put it down to the excessive use of "cheeky".

Eh, I can't stop the groans that "New addition to Superpower/Magical Girl Team 101" episodes tend to bring in general. Alas, with these things it is all but a necessary evil.
Lastly, New Docking Yellow Combo > Docking Blue Combo.

Vividred Operation 5

And of course, "Black
isn't really a mean person, but is having her strings pulled by a true dark power yadda."
Was there any doubt? I'm positive everyone knew this from the get-go. On another note, it was amusing viewing (nsfw) this perspective while a
bird
demands global destruction. There was a small bit of the usual, which is not unwelcome. But it was mostly a flat introduction and execution of a TRAGIC character.

Nonetheless, it still makes for very easy animewatch and the cringes due to plot/backstory (Its actual plot/backstory, nothing wrong with the voluptuous type!) aren't enough to chase me off. Gimme the next episode, etc.

Chihayafuru 2 8:
This was a good start to the tournament. Pretty much all of the main characters had some good moments in the episode. Komano is the MVP of the team, and I'm surprised with just how much I've started enjoying Hanano's scenes.
Her constantly updating her observations was hilarious.

The main match of the episode was pretty fun. It was a fairly simple match, but there were a lot of good moments, particularly with Nishida's observations. And then...that ending.

This show just doesn't have bad episodes. It's always an enjoyable viewing experience.

Aside from reading the ending to see if there was any difference from the anime (there is), no, I haven't. I plan on it eventually, though.

And I'm sure a lot of the reason that Toradora! resonated so much for me is because it was my first "real" romance anime. I've seen a few others that I guess you could call romance, or at least ones that had a romance element, but Toradora! was the first one I'd watched where the romance was at the center of the plot.

The Light of El Cantare
Can anyone tell me what anime character this is referencing?

She was shown as part of a gag involving various anime characters named "Maya", so that's presumably her first name.

That was eh... I guess it was cute? I really don't know. I can see where the welp came from... The ED was... Interesting... See Narag I'm following through with it!

Gundam 00 4

I can't stand looking at Setsuna. I look at him and all I see is Shinn Asuka. Ugh, and he's like some hellish cross between Heero Yuy's and Rei Ayanami in that he only ever whispers monotone stuff. UUUUUGH. Only 4 episodes in, plenty of time for Kira Yamato to show up and usurp this chump. I mean for me to grow to like Setsuna.

Anyway, aside from the fact that Setsuna is a terrible character and Celestial Being is a pretentious name and an organization with childishly idealistic goals, this was a fairly decent episode. We met this show's Gundam Princess (she's prolly no Seyla, though.) and we got to see MURICA pull a fast one on Pretentious Being, so that was nice. The idea of a South American country being ticked at USA was also believable.

So there was this white haired, yellow eyed character introduced and I'm not sure if they're a boy or a girl but I'm praying its not more Xehanort Gallette/worst Char clone EVER going on here.

Like seriously, if that thing is this show's Char clone, I am disappoint.

Gundam 00 took awhile for me to get into. Its really good once it gets going. Season 2 is also good as well, but the movie was kind of dumb.

I finished Gundam Seed recently, was really good. Watching seed destiny, about 35 episodes in. Clearly inferior and the amount of recycled footage is terrible. Probably going to watch 0078 afterwards and start up the UC stuff.

Well duckroll needs a clause so he can post his Seikon No Qwaser III impressions when the time comes.

Futari wa Pretty Cure 3

Note to Zakenna: when you have your enemy saying "I can't breathe!", you don't fucking stop. You've got them by the (metaphorical) balls. Chucking them into a wall is pointless. Pretty Cure would be dead and you would have all seven stones if you hadn't gotten stupid. Nice job.

Pretty meh episode overall. How the hell did what's-his-face just come in and present himself as a student teacher? Nobody seemed to be husks when he first showed up. And why did people think he was cute? He's as pale as a cocaine-addicted ghost, for crying out loud.

Scene with Honoka's grandmother was pretty cute though.
