Is Robotics;Notes worth watching? Quite liked the VN to Steins;Gate, but after watching 6 episodes of Robotics I can't say that I feel the same for that one. Is it going to pick up or can I stop watching? :S

If you're patient, there is some nice payoff. The problem is it takes longer to get there than even Steins;Gate, and that had a slow start as well.

Right now, shit is going down, but maybe wait for it to end and we can tell you if it's worth it or not.

Great cover for Kids on the Slope.

Amagami SS Haruka Morishima arc

Really didn't like how the first 2 episodes went. Tachibana seemed to be desperate and it was sort off putting. Episode 3 and 4 were very good though.

I really didn't know much about the show so I guess it's about how Tachibana story would be like from each girl. I thought he was going to be a school playboy.

EDITED: my bad

Amagami is not harem.. you get 4 episode for each girl and you see how everything turn out if he focused on one girl.
This way every can buy the blu ray allocated to his "best girl" and forget the arcs you don't like ..perfect :)

I got them all anyway...

Wait .. you're watching the SS ( side stories ) before watching the main arcs ?

Shouldn't you watch Amagami first to know each girl and setting before going for the SS ..SS lose all his interet if you haven't seen the original chapters animated or played the games.

I'm confused isn't there only SS and then SS+ that is animated.

Sorry i edited later :)
i forgot that the anime was Amagami SS while the games were just amagami .

I got confused ..forgive me :)

(too many amagami stuff in my head )

Is it really laziness rather than efficiency though? Even in the cheaper motionless scenes I've found they tend to at least try to frame the scene in an interesting way. Also it's not like their shows are completely devoid of any fluid motion or well animated scenes. I don't know, I just find it odd that Evangelion gets praise for only needing 700 frames on the first episode but SHAFT well, gets the shaft in that department.

I'm talking about what other studios do, rather than what SHAFT does.

SHAFT, rightly, get called out for their hugely inconsistent production values and inconsistent quality of direction combined with their tendency to pander to the creepiest section of the market.

08th MS Team new short film OVA

This is the most beautiful 8 minute that I've seen, Goddammit Sunrise you still has it didn't you.

RIP Hand-drawn mech ;_____;

Why does that surprise you? Unicorn looks great!

Wait, does this mean the 08th MS Team is out on Blu-Ray? God damn!

Well the thing is it just highlighted how easy it is to make a big post without thinking about it because one usually only considers the size of gifs forgetting 720p pngs can be even bigger. Really mobile GAF shouldn't be displaying images when you've disabled them.

I just disable images entirely when browsing via my phone anyway.

That was.... Interesting. Going in this completely blind about what it actually was I was quite taken aback from it. Definitely didn't expect... That... Anyone know if the manga is worth looking at?

Best news I heard all day. I knew about Miller's report but that's awesome.

There's a Nozoki Ana anime? :lol
The manga is... solid from what I can gather.

It's definitely more pleasing to the eye and gets me pretty aroused. Might as well read it since the OVA was packed with the final volume.

I think that's partly due to a certain artistic laziness and probably more to do with the extra expense/effort in drawing things from different angles of moving a camera through a space in a manner that's not possible in reality. The later, in particular, either requires extensive use of CG or lots of background animation which is a lot of hard work.
Sure, and while Shaft shows can look cheap at times, you typically see shots that actually take advantage of the medium at least.
I still remember the floor cams in SoreMachi, for one. lol

I believe I wrote an essay on that subject.
You and your pantsu!

While that looked pretty okay. It didn't look amazing or anything and I imagine in comparison to the original OVA's it looked pretty bad but it's acceptable for modern Sunrise. Ironically, in this case the distracting CG wasn't part of the mechanical animation but it was part of the background art.

Outside of the animation I suppose the fight was fairly good. True to the nature of the original series the excitement doesn't derive from the ace pilot mowing down hundreds of faceless goons, instead you only need a couple of mobile suits to create a tense battle.

Solid you say. (my innuendo detectors are broken after this)

I might check it out. Another thing that shocked me was that it was 40 minutes long while I was expecting 20 minutes or so.

Ah, I misunderstood then. Hopefully more interesting and active camera work gets used once it gets cheaper and easier to produce, until then I'll just be pleasantly surprised when it shows up outside of Kyoani.

Agreed on the SHAFT points though, which is a shame because it turns people off of the hidden gems in their body of work. funny enough I think "Summer Storm" and "And Yet the Town Moves" are their most consistent and least creepy shows but they can be argued to be their least distinctly SHAFT shows. Not sure if there's a correlation but you'd think with the money they're raking in they'd nail down their style while being consistent by now, oh well.

And ironically I thought the pacing was too fast/rushed.

It's a good smutty read, although i stopped somewhere on volume 8, got to pick it back up sometime.

Yeah it seemed to rush through quite a ton of stuff. I guess this added to the shock because you really don't expect it to escalate this quickly.

I believe a lot of those profits go straight to Aniplex, rather than SHAFT. Or something.
Let's be confused together.
:kayos?

It skipped over quite a few chapters and ended up on chapter 20 or so in that 40 minutes. And those were good chapters too, though it's not like they were trying to advertise the manga since like I said, it was bundled with the final volume.

When :kayos'd, it's best to travel in pairs!
I think the idea only works when only one is Kayos'd.

Interesting will read now.

The AnimeSongCollabo group is back with cover versions of a handful of this season's OP/ED songs. A sample of a few:

Magi ED2
Senran Kagura OP (a decent male cover version of it, in fact)
Vividred OP
BLOODY STREAM
Dat bloody stream.

Amnesia 10

I feel like this show contains all the hatred DTL has against female characters all concentrated towards this otome lead. And it's hilarious.

Of course all of last week's pet protecting issue gets sweep under the rug cause CHILDHOOD FRIENDS!

Martian Successor Nadesico 06

OK, this is stupid.
My college anime club was showing Nadesico, and I was convinced it was the worst kind of harem crap after the first few episodes until I had to cover for someone at a showing, and caught episodes 12-15 as a result. The series then does a near 180 for me, and almost instantly became one of my favorite shows, due to how awesomely ridiculous the plot gets.
