I'm glad that Toonami is getting recent shows though. It's seemingly getting more money pumped into it, and I'm happy for that.

While they finally explained some key concepts of the series, this was a really dull way to do it.

You should honestly just have watched 1, 3, 5 and called it a day. Maybe watch 6 if you like some :sdburton. 2, 4, 7 is some of the worst shit I've experienced from Ufotable ever. :(

Oh that wasn't a comment on censorship, but how it's a low priority show with limited popularity and terrible sales in Japan.
Point, though I was admittedly thinking of censorship as another potential obstacle especially when it covers a series THAT long (your name for it made it's quality pretty clear.)

It is good. I don't hate Toonami, but I could never watch the Big 3 weekly, it'd kill me. If they could get series as fast as they got SAO and Attack on Titan frequently, then I'd probably check it out once in a while to see certain episodes or the dubs for shows I like.
Also more Space Dandy type simulcasts.

It amazes me how they get stuff like this and yet ignore other stuff like Gurren Lagann.

Gurren Lagann never aired on Toonami did it? Cause if it didn't, this is a mistake that must be fixed.
When they have the next Tumblr Q/A I fully intend to remind them how awesome Gurren Lagann would be on Toonami. I so want to watch it with you guys.

I kind of expect that they're fully aware and for whatever reason couldn't get it on their station even years after the Sci-Fi run ended. :/

But it IS on Hulu and Crunchyroll! Though I guess you'd have already checked out on Crunchyroll, and if you wanted it dubbed that vanished from Hulu for some reason. Which also bodes poorly for a Toonami revival.

More standard fare as the specialized party members are caught up in particular fights to clear the path for Parn and a final boss encounter.

I can already tell who my favorites are going to be.

Log Horizon 1

Opening: S'alright. Don't think its anything that special.
Ending: I just know I'm going to end up saving this song just to listen to repeatedly.

Enjoyable.

Best way I can describe how I felt about the episode.

More so thanks to the characters actually.

Really appreciating Shiroe's calm and cool personality, with a dash of some nice comical moments. His pal Nao is a total bro. Would hang with after work and on days off. Akatsuki seems like a sweet middle school girl. Her interaction with Nao was definitely one of the highlights. Marie the Glomp and Henri the Cajun both provided some nice laughs as well.

Does seem kinda strange that they didn't seem that concerned (i.e. freak out) about being stuck in a game as everyone else. But its not really that big issue with me, since less angst means more fun.

I do have to say that I love that battle music. Definitely something I would want to listen to when fighting in a JRPG/RPG/MMO.

Story is the weakest part, otherwise has some beautiful animation, music, visuals, etc. Anime cultural literacy aspect too.

also it has a hot brown elf girl which is synonymous with what kayos likes

Arrrgh now i have to watch this ASAP.

Indeed, the "pearls" reference seems worthy .

yeah its so adorable and MadP even appears to like it.

I don't know but I've always felt that Fate Zero might be more niche than other shows they might put there. It requires a lot of attention to background and details by the audience member to fully appreciate it.

Fate Zero maybe but...why isnt ROD TV on there? Seems perfect for that sorta lineup.

Wat. I never said this.... It's not even true!

I feel horrible that after making all of these comments and that debate we had for a bit there on strong female characters in anime I rewached the Lil' Crime Stoppers episode in South Park and this exchange in the classroom forced me to stop the episode and laugh for 4 minutes straight:

MR. GARRISON: And so you can see, children, that the women's movement of the late fifties and the early sixties had a profound effect on feminism in America. Uh, boys! Would it trouble you terribly not to sleep in my class?

KYLE: Uh wu we weren't sleeping, Mr. Garrison.

MR. GARRISON:Oh well, then maybe you can tell me who was in charge of the feminist movement of the early sixties!

CARTMAN: A bunch of fat old skanks on their periods?

MR. GARRISON: Right, but who was the fattest oldest skank on her period?! That's what I thought! Now pay attention! Okay, children, now, the biggest fatass was an old skank by the name of-

Fucking South Park is going to ruin my politically correct stance. Jesus Christ I need to calm down. This show deserves a place in a vault for best US comedies.

I'm pretty confident Toonamigaf will like AOT almost the entire way through. Pacing issues aren't much of a problem and its otherwise pretty consistent. It's also a legitimately liked series on the internet, unlike SAO which is as much of a punching bag as Twilight is at this point.

Yeah the show is damn popular everywhere, and It doesn't have any of the horrid shit that the second half of SAO has. I think it will be reasonably liked by ToonamiGAF.

Probably will help that they'll get to see the version with finished animation.

I'm a little bit late digging into the spring lineup. I've kinda put it off. XD

So what's been good so far? I don't really want to waste hours wading through a bunch of so-so anime. I haven't looked at much so far, just Captain Earth, The World Is Still Beautiful, and Blade and Soul. All of which seem decent so far. Any other suggestions?

The Mahoraba vibes continue to be strong in this one. I also like the visual style in this one. Besides No Game No Life, this one also has a muted/filtered color palette going for it. It does a lot to help the atmosphere. If I'm going by the Mahoraba line, then Sayaka strongly reminds me of Tamami. A popular voice actress known for cute roles in the driver's seat, but she's strongly possessive and has a hidden side that just wants to crush the protagonist to bits. The bubble scene was a nice turnaround of where that joke was going - a truly heartwarming moment in the show, and Ritsu continues to be a nice change of pace for a HanaKana role. It's kinda putting the idea in my head to see the Book Girl series. That's in an entirely different genre, but it's one of those mental word association things. Liking the show thus far.

Surprisingly sweet and intensely hilarious. This is one of the stronger shows this season.

And now I'm following 4 shows on Saturdays. God help me.

Good conclusion with Parn appropriately leveling up to meet the challenge. Always loved the bit with the insert song towards the end as it was an event that felt earned after a bunch of bullshit leading up to it. It's a real pulpy moment but in all the right ways.

Will complain about some story stuff later.
