Wired’s game of the year

Wired?

More like weird.

One dude could not choose a GOTY. I wonder how publications with a committee for choosing GOTY would manage that.

Pentiment is a great game like bungee jumping is a good activity, meaning, it's specialized for a certain type of person who enjoys specific things (reading games in this case).

Does that make it worse? I don't know. I like it, but I have to be in a certain mood to play it. I have to play it before I go to bed or something when I am winding down. That takes it down a notch for me.
Is "reading game" now a genre?

I don't think it makes it worse, I also get those period and especially after a particular type of game (text heavy ones), I need to have a 'mindless' game and those games (including the great vampire survivor which can definitely get a bit mindless in the last 10 minutes of a run) aren't necessarily better imo.

It goes back to reviews are just very subjective not only to tastes but also personally circumstances.
