Wireless online console gaming (question)...

Since my PC and PS2 are on different floors of my apartment, I was considering trying out a wireless connection through a router for online gaming with my PS2. Anyone here have any experience with wireless online console gaming? Is the performance up to snuff? Got any tips or trouble spots I should watch out for?

I use a Linksys Wireless G router and Linksys Wireless G Game Adaptor to play FFXI on my PS2. I haven't had any problems with it. Certainly beats rewiring your house.

It works great. I use a D-Link wireless router and bridge. Most routers/bridges have rebate offers these days, you can get the combo for less than $100.

Just make sure the router and bridge are the same brand, makes it easier to get them talking to each other. I'd go for 802.11g.

I have 2 Linksys WAPs. They are just 802.11b. Works great for my Xbox and used to work great for my PS2 (don't have the PS2 anymore). The one connected to the consoles is an access point client. The one connected to my router is an access point. It works flawlessly.

The reason I didn't buy a bridge at the time was because the bridge cost as much as a WAP, so I figured fuck it - more functionality is available on a WAP.
