Witcher 2 for Xbox 360 'Enhanced Edition', 4+ hours bonus content, out April 17th

From the official site:
CD Projekt RED will reveal all of the important facts regarding Xbox 360 version of The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings during the upcoming conference held in Copernicus Science Centre on the 26th of January.

We will be unveiling many exciting details about the game such as its release date, brand, new trailer, additional features coming to the console adaptation and many more.

"Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 is not just a simple port of a PC game, it’s an adaptation. Our newest game has been enhanced with many new features, and according to many specialists it’s one of the best looking games on Xbox 360 ever" – said Michał Nowakowski, Member of the board, CD Projekt RED S.A..

Im pretty sure they said that PC version will be getting all the 360 changes/upgrades. Trying to find a quote.

EDIT: Here we go
The Witcher 2 on Xbox 360 will get extra story content as well as the 2.0 enhancements, Dark Mode, Arena, new tutorial and new four minute opening cinematic, CD Projekt Red has revealed.
And, crucially, it will all be offered for free on PC, either "around the same time" or very shortly after. "If there's going to be some differences they're not going to be like months," story designer and writer Jan Bartkowicz told Eurogamer in an interview following his Witcher 2 Expo presentation. "They're going to be more into days. It's what I think is going to happen."

Average Joe gamer was probably a poor choice of words. What I was trying to say was only the most devoted players are willing to go out of their way to seek out back story information. I'm just curious if they are going to have something similar to the interactive comic that came with the PS3 version of Mass Effect 2 to help new players catch up.

It wouldn't be a bad idea, but the problem is that TW1 had a much more complex plot than ME1. It would be pretty tough to sum it up in a concise way, especially when taking player choices into account. And on top of that, TW2 probably makes more references to the books than TW1, and most of TW1's major plotlines are self-contained, so it wouldn't do newcomers much good.

I doubt they will do this, but it would be neat if they added a virtual encyclopedia of sorts containing information on all of the key characters, backstories and lore from TW1 and the books to get newbies up to speed. I guess you could always check out the Witcher Wikia, shit's pretty detailed.

The Mass Effect interactive comic was horribly shallow. However, I really loved the idea; I would like to see something similar but with better execution.

That sounds like an introduction cinematic for newcomers to me.

I personally found that I ha more control in w1 vs 2 mainly because the priority animation thing is pretty weird in 2.

Still a great game. I heard that they nerfed the shield spell which kinds broke the game lol.
They really need to revamp the shitty inventory menu though.

Oh it's still broken. I`ll probably try a Quenless playthrough next.

I'VE LOST ALL INTEREST IN YOU.

By turn-based mechanics, I mean you cant just bumrush and twirl swords. In Witcher 1, the combat was in real time, but was based heavily on timing and comboing. You couldn't just spam click, you had to wait for the most opportune moment. The Witcher 2 is also like this. It's more free and you have greater control of your character, but you can't just run in and start slashing everyone because you will get your ass kicked. It's not like Skyrim where you can use your dual Daedric swords of doom to slice up people. You have to time your attacks so you don't get wrapped up in an enemy's death combo, and since blocking takes off a big portion of stamina, you have to use it conservatively. Witcher 2 relies a lot on mixing up your attacks (standard sword attacks, magic, bombs, traps, potion buffs etc.). Also rolling. Lots of rolling.

so combat is similar to dark souls?

How are they handling catching the player up on the story to this point? In the Witcher 2, they are not afraid to mention names, locations and events in passing without any explanation. They have some great, detailed text descriptions in the journal but I don't expect the average joe gamer to read, wiki pages and journal entries to catch up on the story.

I have no idea what the fuck is going on in Skyrim (as I've never played an ES game before), hasn't stopped me from enjoying the universe.

It tried to be like Dark Souls but fails horribly. At the end of the day it's a little better then the first game since you can cut through enemies a lot faster.

It didn't try to be like Dark Souls at all. Combat is "A little better than the first game"? It's actually much better.

That's great stuff. I bought it on Steam during one of the recent sales. I still have to finish the first Witcher. My obsessive completion tendencies demand it be so! *will not be playing Witcher 2 any time soon*

Found a 360 screenshot

Can agree with all of this.

W1 combat was broken as well(swords trump everything, magic and potions became useless way too early). But W2 combat drove me crazy based on the awkward animations. Felt really disconnected, and I also disliked spamming shield every fight. And yes, that inventory menu was a nightmare, especially on a controller. Most everything else was great though.

I half expect the new 4-minute cinematic to be the W1 epilogue ending FMV ported over. It's a crime that it wasn't included already given how directly it correlates to the narrative thrust of W2. It's inclusion certainly would have helped ease new players into the current events that are discussed in the opening of Witcher 2.

I'm going to have to replace my red ring box when this thing releases, my laptop just can't run it as good as I want so I skipped out on it.

Im excited for this. I might double dip if they make it worth it but I mainly want to hear about the upgrades/changes and when theyll be patched into the PC version.

Sorry if it was already asked but will Collector's Edition appear for the 360? Or just the game?

I myself hope they release a Collector's Edition and would like it if it was similar to the PC version.I would especially love that art book that came with it and a OST.

That was what I would like too, I'm curious to see if they will do that. IIRC there was more than one type of edition for PC so I would like to see the same on 360.

I might be remembering it wrong, but I think there were 3 versions of the PC release
-The premium edition that came with a bunch of goodies (soundtrack, paper crafts, game guide, map, etc). This was a physical and digital release.
-The GOG.com premium edition that came with all of the above plus the digital version of the artbook. This was digital only.
-The limited edition that came with everything in the premium edition plus a physical art book and a bust of Geralt. This was physical only.

I do wonder if theyll be as generous with the 360 release and include all of those goodies right off the bat. They already said that DLC will not be free on 360 version so if they do retailer specific DLC this time, dont expect them all to be patched in for free like the PC version.

They said "All your questions will be answered on January 26", so we'll probably get the date aswell as the confirmation (or not) of the collector's edition on the 360 side.

7h p.m. GMT +1 is 24 minutes away.

So I was curious where Tomasz Gop ended up and apparently he's now working at City Interactive (Sniper: Ghost Warrior) as an Executive Producer for an upcoming unannounced multiplatform action RPG.
