Witcher 3 Rage & Steel Trailer

Hey GAF you know what else looks weird when you zoom in really close to it?

Fucking everything.

yes, except you don't need to zoom

the game still looks gorgeous

Good news, this is not the trailer Aleth Zenisek was talking about as being the best yet, so there is more goodness on the way.

Concerning all of these comments about how it's downgraded, perhaps it is but we now know what happens when you push LoD (textures and geometry), draw distance, and shadows way out in an open world game: you get maxed out GTA V which runs like shit on anything but dual GPU systems with a beefy CPU. It's possible that they are showing off reasonable settings rather than completely maxed out, especially since Hairworks doesn't appear to be on in any of these.

What I also hope is the case for these apparent downgrades is that they have fleshed out major locations of the game with the kind of fine detail that we've seen in trailers but may have skimped on side-areas where, perhaps, these screens/videos have been taken from. I don't really expect them to go to the same level of detail for minor places like some ruined fort in the middle of nowhere.

That's real helpful. Mordor was one of the best games last year.

Its combat was Batman combat. Apparently early on in development it really was going to be a Batman game. If you want an understanding then maybe you should look at the media and decide for yourself. Most people haven't played the game, so it is hard to state exactly how the combat feels.

It definitely isn't Batman, but not all combat systems are to the taste of everybody.

Visuals look pretty poor, and the animations looked really strange, kind of like Bioshock's. 30 fps native footage I think. Console maybe?

That Ciri ending is hype.

Yeah, the visual downgrade compared to previous trailers like Sword of Destiny is insane. This game doesn't look phenomenal any more - looks pretty much like what you'd expect from a multi-plat game these days.

The combat animations looked AMAZING though! And that Ciri section at the end! HOLY ****!!!

Yeah, I am getting this game day one unless reviews for some reason are less then good(which i can't see happening) but graphically I am not seeing it with this trailer.

In fact the game hasn't really blown me away graphically since the reveal trailers that have clearly been downgraded since then.

The more i have spent time with videos the less enamored with the graphics i have become. But thats fine, I like graphics but I'm getting the game because its a Witcher game, not because it is a graphical showcase.

Awesome trailer. Anyone want to check Twitter and see if the missing blood splatter is a glitch or if it was actually removed?

AARGH! I can't get that trailer's soundtrack out of my head... (ಠ益ಠ)

Someone please tell me: is it in the game? Possibly even on the included soundtrack CD? It sure sounds like it could be in line with the known 25 tracks. I asked on twitter but got no reply. Anyone got any clue? ◕_◕

The music at the start of the trailer is definitely in the game. I don't know if the second song that starts when the combat starts is in the game or not though.

For Witcher 2 they often released mp3s of trailer music that wasn't on the soundtrack, so there'd still be a chance even if it's not in the game.
