you're really trying to defend someone going on a sidewalk to avoid a stop sign (which doesn't make any sense.. not like the stop sign is any less valid)

plus kids do cross the street to catch the bus. They don't normally look both ways. That's why the sign exists in the first place.

Here's one I saw just last week: where to bypass a red light, they take a right turn, drive right over the center line, then take another right turn. As if that's perfectly legal or something. Fuck people are dumb. If you're going to blow through a stoplight, at least do it like a boss.

They don't have to wait where the bus's entrance is. Maybe they are running late and just coming out of their door, or its a busy intersection and they rather wait for all cars to stop.

And yes I have waited for a school bus and sometimes I had to cross a street that was busy since it lead right to a hospital.

My brother goes to school and gets picked up by a school bus because he has learning problems, one time a driver had to wait behind the bus for about 2 minutes and in that time she beeped, swore and raged because we were blocking her for 120 seconds, to make things worse she was only using our road because it was a corner cut off the main route.

Some drivers are assholes and think they are perfect.

Saw a woman in a minivan the other week trying to pass a bus on a two-way street with one lane on each side. She only got about half way past it before it was too late and she stopped. She was so close to the bus that the extendable stop sign came out and dragged along her right-side window. I sat there wishing it would have grabbed some paint, but no such luck.

At the next intersection she was behind the bus, and the bus stopped to let more kids out. She got out, checked for damage, then started yelling at the bus aide who was helping kids across the street about damage to her car (of which there was sadly none).

He told her if she wasn't trying to get past them it wouldn't have happened, to which she told him she wasn't. Right. Luckily, the bus turned and she went straight at the next light. I would have offered myself up as a witness on behalf of the bus driver, because she was totally wrong. Some people are just ignorant, self-serving and rude.
