Women seem to carry way too much stuff

We carry a lot of stuff we think we'll use <.<

iphone, earphones, charger, planner book, pens, makeup bag(s).., keys, wallet, tissues, mirror, lotion, pain meds, and random stuff like nail filers/hair clips.

My bag is a bit heavy =/ but I only use one!

They definitely do. I carry my phone, wallet and keys with me, that's it. Women have all but the kitchen sink on them. Also, they tend to store things in their bra. I've often been out with friends and seen them pull out money, their phone and a rabbit from their bra.

Was going bowling with a friend of mine this weekend. Her purse was larger than my bowling ball bag. I kept expecting her to pull her own ball & shoes out of that, but no.

The rabbit isn't meant to be put in the bra. She's doing it wrong.

I'm a dude and I usually have a small messenger bag with me containing... keys, ipod, cell phone, headphones, folding knife, swiss army knife, notebook & pen, small book for study, floss, chapstick, nail clippers, tweezers, handkerchief, rx sunglasses in case, aspirin, and benadryl.

All of these things have proven themselves useful on a regular basis.

I usually also carry my water bottle with me separately and I may bring along other stuff specific to whatever I am going to, a snack or instant coffee or something of that sort.

Are you an amatuer whittler?
It is pretty quick-draw and moves to my hand when I'm walking neighborhoods with large, mean, precariously-secured dogs. An attack a former coworker survived and living in Mexico for some time taught me wisdom in such matters. That said, there has been a surprising amount of times that it has been a very useful tool.

My wife finally ditched her purse in favor of a small zipper wallet (with a bird on it). She seems much happier and was really getting tired of dragging around an oversized bag filled with shit she rarely ever needed.

I have this iPhone case

Now I only have to carry my keys and my phone. I hope the future of NFC will eliminate my need to carry around keys

youre no "dude" dude

I agree. And it seems like its perfectly OK for them to press their bags against your body on the trains/ buses

You can't combine all of those into one bag? Why do you need both a personal and work bag?

A work bag has to be big enough to carry a laptop, notepads, folders, etc. A purse is typically smaller.

And you want them to be separate so that once you're at work if you need to leave for lunch or something similar, all you have to do is grab your purse.

I never got this pursebag thing. My coworker has a purse the size of her torso and I am baffled as to what's in it.

LOL I stopped carrying my wallet over a year ago. My pockets just have my passport, debit card, money, keys, and phone.

There are plenty of women out there who also purchase a bag first-and-foremost for fashion reasons, not practical use reasons.

A messenger bag is definitely the answer for men who envy womens' social license carry all manner of convenience products in flashy satchels. If you're worried about people judging you for packing a man purse, rub it with some dirt and sandpaper.

This also works on your face if you need to look rugged for an important meeting and you don't have time to grow stubble.

Women need purses. They are soooo many different kind of purses. I don't even know how much they are, you know the designer purses. Crazy.

It's the attempt to strike a balance between feminine aesthetic ideals and some degree of utility, since as much as some of them may deny it they do need ways to carry large amounts of things on them at times. Messenger bags have high degrees of utility but are not considered as feminine, so unless it's out of necessity for work you'll see women use large purses.

It's not hard to understand, even if you think it's a little ridiculous (which I do).

I always get shoulder bags with long straps so I can put it over my shoulder with the strap across the chest. I dunno how some girls take huge bags filled with junk with the strap/handle on the arm, looks so uncomfortable. I always get bags that are tiny but with lots of sections and zipped pouches/pockets that can fit gazillion of stuff. I don't carry shoes with me, or my my laptop, just a few make-up items, hand cream, nail clipper, hair pins-clips-hairbands, pen-pencils-sharpener, notebook, wallet, phone, glasses and house keys. I can fit all that and more in my tiny bags!

EDIT: I don't generally carry tampons or stuff like that, so I don't think that's what's actually filling up the bags of some women =/
Who puts that stuff in their bags? When I'm on my days yeah but not the whole fricking box every single DAY... :|

I've been saying this for years.

Wouldn't it be classier to just have like a little tampon case, like those old fashioned cigarette holsters? Maybe a small purse to go with it. Not like these twelve gallon monstrosities you see every day, big enough to abduct a child with.

I laughed at this much harder than I should have. Well done.

The reason I've gravitated towards arm bags is cause having the strap across my chest just makes my boobs stand out :\ I currently have one that converts between a short and long strap just in case I have to carry it that way, but I try to avoid it.

I have a belt kit. It's got my multitool and my phone. I also have 2 sets of keys and my wallet. Flashlight goes in my leg pocket around my knee.

I like being prepared.

Supply lines are getting longer and harder to maintain.

What about a wallet for your iPhone?

I just ordered one of these. It's not really that I minded having a separate wallet and phone, but I was having trouble dealing with the keys. Now they get a separate pocket, though I could stand to pare them down as well.

I typically just carry my wallet, keys, and phone with me in my pockets - they do make girl clothing with pockets but they also make an equal amount without pockets. Whenever I'm out shopping for pants, I have to keep an eye out for the non-pocket varieties.

After I got my 3DS, I started carrying it around in a bag because it doesn't fit in any of my pants' pockets. Not a very large bag mind you, but something small enough to fit the console and some games but not large enough to carry a book as well.

So I had to get a bigger bag for my two 3DSes, some games, and a book. My BF is now teasing me that I've succumbed to carrying a "purse", yet I don't hear any complaints from him as I haul around my consoles and his iPad in the same bag :p Though, I still carry my wallet in my back pocket, my phone in my left-front pocket, and my keys in my right-front pocket.

I fear some day that I might become one of those women, who carry around everything and the kitchen sink wherever they go.

OMG yes, I know exactly what you mean. Mine are cross-body bags because I'm afraid that I'll leave a shoulder-bag or a hand-bag behind if I put it down somewhere. I'm regularly adjusting my cross-body bag so that the strap is not sitting right between my chest-bags.

You guys think this is bad? Wait until you have kids and your wife upgrades her purse to a diaper bag. Shit triples in size and you start carrying things like DVD players along for the ride.

All I carry is my wallet, my keys, my phone and my knife. I never leave home without any of them.

So, your boobs are supposed to stand out.

keys and wallet on left (back for wallet is optional, but i dont like it cause i dont wanna sit on it)
iphone on the right (so you can whip out quick infront of people to show them you have an iphone)

every other combo is broken. keys and phone in the same side is the worst. your phone will be scratched to death in a day

My girlfriend has lost her keys 3 times in the past year and her wallet twice. I've lost my keys once in my life, twelve years ago when I was 15, and never lost my wallet. And I travel WAY more often than she does.

It's because she carries too much junk and doesn't have pockets.

Keeping your wallet in the back not only makes it easy to swipe, it's bad for your posture and nerves in that area when sitting.

For what purpose? For the need of an impromptu shanking? I have some friends that carry knives with them too. I don't know why, there are tool keychains that have tons of useful stuff including knives and whatnot.
