I didn't watch many episodes of Xena later in the series, so I didn't know she and Gabrielle became friends with benefits later.

But Gabby looked good later on.

The difference is in the face. Wonder Woman looks like a chick who tries to sell you overpriced hand lotion with Dead Sea salts at your local fashion mall, while Lucy Lawless can pull off a legitimately intimidating look for a fantasy/action show.

Xena the show also had soul, as campy as it was. It would have been relegated to the Saturday afternoon TV garbage pile were it not for its two lead actresses.

my vote is for the other chick anyway. although their is a sexiness factor lucy lawless has that gal gadot could never dream of touching. looks aside gadot as WW was fantastic, and xena was always cheesy... really looking forward to the WW sequel.
