Work with me. Imagine an Ocarina of Time remake...

But with Xenoblade scope and depth. Andres Restart has an intriguing hypothesis that has been in the works for AGES.

I hope I'm not violating rules or anything, but this would be WORLD BENDING.

No thanks.
A new, original Zelda game would be a lot better. Totally different style from BotW and TotK, and better dungeons.
I would like them to take some inspiration from the YS games.

New game starring Linkle instead pls no more remakes and no more Fallout inspired sandbox Zelda games either. Many thanks.

As for Xeoblade inspired depth and scope save that for next Xeno game or Xenoblade X 2.

With switch2 power ninny can make tons of cash at relatively low cost/creativity, and those games dont even need to sell super well to be extremly profitable, 4-5m copies each would be plenty, which is perfectly reasonable result since switch2 likely gonna break 20m sold units in its first year on the market and sky is the limit after few years...

Thats why its so annoying they are sitting all quiet atm, no monolith soft new jrpg, no old zelda remakes(and ocarina + majora mask defo need it) and not even any info/vague rumors about new proper mainline zelda/3d mario platformer either, its crazy amount of sleeping dragon potential here.

No. You havessen some reactiona bout Demon Souls Remake... imagine messing around with OoT! I believe it's basic gameplay could and should be updated... but Ships of Harkinian already does a great job without messing around the game itself.

And personally... i would like SO MUCH a third game on wilds era and with wilds characters...

It's still a wonderful game and needs no remake. Better graphics won't add much to it, if not take from it because the rest of the design fidelity won't quite match the visuals (for example having some very obvious blocky designs and block puzzles etc. in an otherwise more natural and organic looking environment would be kind of a mismatch if it's not a Portal test chamber deal that even in the game's setting is a manufactured challenge rather than something you organically figure out in a deep fantasy world). So at that point it needs a complete overhaul top to bottom and no longer resembles the original other than keeping some skeleton bits underneath (like most Zeldas do anyway) so, just make a new Zelda at that point. 20 fps with drops may be a bit painful (though the impeccable design overcomes that imo, I played OoT many years past its release and it was a wonderful experience that blows your mind how they made it all in their first forays into 3D, every game dev should play these as fundamentals and many clearly don't or even scoff at them and it shows in their own lackluster productions) but there's the 3DS version for that (I guess recomps etc. as well now)...

Edit: that fan thing looks way more inspired by BOTW/TOTK's gerudo town (other than having the cliff face structure) than a proper reimagining of OoT's fortress. Not even really better either, some assets are pretty eh. The animation at the start of it is pretty neat but the gamey assets/parts, nah 🤷‍♂️

Ocarina of Time is one of my favourite games ever... but it's time to let it go. We have a wonderful 3DS remake. Port that to Switch if you must. Nintendo should keep trying to make something new and innovative, to create the next OOT.

How about a reimagining of OOT instead of a remake?

Like another has suggested, some of the puzzles and area designs in the original are a little archaic now. I'd certainly take a reimagining of the general premise of OOT. It could have the same dungeons with new layouts, and the same bosses with expanded move-sets.

Make the open-world similar to BOTW except you can only get to certain areas with specific tools.

Honestly feels unnecessary because every 3D Zelda since OoT has imitated its structure or at the very least contained numerous references to it. There's also the fact that Nintendo is too proud of their legacy titles to do remakes of them.

A new 3D Zelda with a new map and setting is what we all want.

Yep, we've seen the same Biomes more or less for a long time. I know they want the locations to be iconic (thus the same fire/ice/town themes) but I don't know, maybe mix it up a bit!

One thing I loved about Wind Waker, despite it's flaws, was the newness of the world. How's about a Zelda with all new locations. I'd love to see at least one kingdom based on a sort of steam punk or 'clock' punk theme. Or maybe a fully fleshed out jungle themed area. A Zeldaised version of the lake town in The Hobbit, what ever, just something new.

Monolith would be the only team that'd I'd trust with an OoT remake but at the same time I'd much rather have them work on a new IP. I REALLY hope project Legacy is that medieval action game whose existence has been up in the air for the entirety of the Switch generation. We'll know soon enough either way.

Eh I already made a thread discussing how a 1:1 remake of OoT using the Botw/Totk engine would be fantastic and everyone poo poo'd that thread. Xenoblade influence would be a hard no from me.

What does OoT gain from "Xenoblade-like scale" exactly? A gigantic Hyrule Field with tons of "kill 12 chuchus" and "bring me 22 red stones" missions? I don't get it.

Personally I'd rather they remake the oracle games because it would be rather easy to do considering they already have just about all the assets needed from the links awakening remake. It's kind of an overlooked title as well.

Also four swords adventures. That is not an easily accessible game due to it being stuck on the GameCube and needing several different peripherals to get the multiplayer up and running (3 gbas and connectors).

I'm tired off all of this Ocarina of Time Remake bullshit.

The amount of work that would need to be done to modernize would just take away from a new game.

JUST MAKE A NEW GAME.

I don't want to play this again. I got it for Christmas in 98. I got it with Wind Waker. It's on NSO. You can emulate it and up-rez it. There's nothing left to mine from this.
