Working Designs: Worthless Collectibles

Four collectible games later (Lunar 1+2, Arc, Growl), does anyone else here think the bonuses Working Designs iz making us pay are crap?

Not that i think that their all bad (the throw-in soundtracks are great), but i think it's bout time WD started giving us stuff we may actually want... and what i (and i'm sure any collector) want iz a collector's tin box/case.

I'd sure like to see Vic contract this guy to design boxes for his games --> http://www.designpaulchampagne.com/

I still have 1 Thunder Force 5 pin and 3 Silhouette Mirage pins from years ago, they make nice pins.

<covers mouth to avoid saying... but points finger and jumps up and down>

$60 for the Lunars wasn't bad, nor was $70 for ATLC, but $90 for the GG:DE is a little too steep.

I like all the collectibles though.

I didnt like the GG collectables that much, watch was was in a nice case and all, but looked abit too cheap, not that i expected rolex quality though. Cards are alright, nothing special. The ring and chain i think are pretty crappy though, if you're gonna have some sort of game related item like that i would have prefered a nice figurine etc.

I thought some nicer instructions and a textured/layered box (ala lunar) would have been nice too. Outside of the ring I think the set was nice overall, nothing that special, but pretty expensive.

I find that pins, toys, etc are all worthless junk. Sooner or later you'll lose them or never actually use them. Just jam them in a drawer and never look at them again. Every E3 I go to I look at the people scrounging for the cheapest swag with disdain.

When it comes to a collector box I'd like to see an Art Book, Making of Book/DVD, Soundtrack, map of the game world, or something along those lines. Something that gives me insight into the creation of the game as well as drawing me into the game itself.

I have Lunar: Silver Star Story with a cloth game map.

I rather have the companies prioritize the localization quality of the game first before worrying about packaging details. Collectable bilingual game > collectable sub game > collectable dub game, for me at least. I'm willing to sacrifice all of the junk extras for a game localized as true to the original source as possible; no stupid embellishments.

Give me additional game world content in the form of art books or making of DVDs. Screw the pins and t-shirts and cloth maps, they are retarded.

Just to clarify: I also prefer artbooks, soundtracks, making ofs, and the occasional cool toy (figure or whatever) but I'm not about to knock WD for their treatment to collectors. Maybe one of these days, they'll do better but their past efforts are appreciated by myself and I will continue to support them.
