may be the first worms I buy in a long time

-hopes for single cart multiplayer-

Yeah, single cart multiplayer and/or wifi would make this one of my most wanted games on any platform.

Well I assume the item screen there is the only example of the bottom screen we've got, everything else seems to be top screen.

Which is a shame if true, the touchscreen is perfect for controlling the actual battlefield, not just item selection. Hopefully it'll switch on the fly (and hopefully you can zoom out a bit further).

This really is an instant buy for me (as long as it doesn't get absolutely horrible reviews) along the lines of Mario Kart and Animal Crossing for the DS. Single cart multiplayer would be absolutely awesome.. anything more (online) would just be icing on the cake.. :D

This really is one game that would benefit from the Dual Screen, plus touch screen. Having the ability to choose weapons on the fly without scrolling, especially when the clock is ticking down is extremely helpful.

+1 Worms sale for me.

Good pics. In graphics, the PSP version looks very better but the touch screen gameplay can make the DS version better.

I hope they put the "1 ds for multiplayer mode", where we need only 1 console for play multiplayer ( like Mario golf GBA).

Good to see the DS doing what it does well, 2D cause it's 3D sucks big time.

Still. The PSP does have larger screen real estate which should make the game better to play however the DS will have much better controls due to the stylus.

I'd go for physical playability over the edge in graphics for this one.

DS owners are in for a treat.

I am ashamed to admit that I have never played Worms. I have played Gunbound (based on Worms, sorta), which was addicting as hell, but the online community was terrible. Is this game even better than Gunbound? I'm assuming it is.

God. Damn. Awesome.

I like the way you can move the window (view). All the weapons on that screen will be great too. It'd help if after confirming weapons selection the battlefield was brought onto the touch screen for precise aiming... some weapons however, would be fine either way.

People are begging for online modes in this version and the PSP version over at the Team 17 forums... the guy who does the network code has responded and said it mightn't be in the final products, but that we shouldn't overlook the game because of that. I agree. They'll both have local wireless / ad hoc modes so it's gonna be sweet anyway.

Day one purchase.

Man, I remembered playing the first worms on floppies with my friends. We laughed our asses off with sheep bombs, kamikazes, dragon punches and fireballs. :lol :lol Such a good game. This looks pretty damn good, might buy it at $20 bucks.

BOO-URNS.

Hopefully they'll at least implement single-cart multiplayer, then. I would also like a pass-the-DS multiplayer mode -- this would guarantee you'd almost always have someone to play with (which is why I wanted it online).

I believe this will be my first Worms game.

What's the series like? It looks kind of like Lemmings... Does it play similarly?

It's more like Scorched Earth or that ANCIENT, ANCIENT Basic game where you tossed bannanas at the other person.

Worms games are one of the best multiplayer games on the planet. If this is WiFi cable or single cart multiplayer it'll be awesome.

Screw that. I'm willing to take a delay if it means getting either or both online.

Plus, I can't imagine Worms being a tricky title to get online, even if it is in a handheld environment.

JUST DO IT DAMNIT

During the first or second DS Worms thread, I believe it came out that they're really doubting online making it.

I question Team 17's technical know-how. After seeing their glitchy console disasters of late, and their "My First 3D Model" looking Worms 3D stuff, I wouldn't be surprised if getting this stuff to work online would be too much of a technical challenge.

To be fair, however, they would have to be in such constant communication with Nintendo over how the gamespy libraries work that it might cause them to miss Christmas. I personally think that an online Worms game would have MUCH longer legs at retail than an offline one... hopefully they're wise and just delay it.

Yes. I was worried that it wouldn't look as good as the PSP version. Kicky that it looks pretty much identical. Touch screen for the win.

SOLD!

I actually enjoyed Worms 3D quite a bit. It's pretty fun to play with a bunch of friends around. Shame the little animations between games haven't been funny since Worms 2. Those were awesome!

I play to pick up Worms Mayhem when it gets a drop in price.
