I go first;
I saw that *X* Company have started making AAA games for console (jumping from mobile), they need TA and Design ASAP.
They have 2 games showcased at E3 and TGS. People really like it and looks *awesome*.
FInish work and i go to the interview, i didnt knew was a group interview, some of my current coworker were there also (My current company was moving branchs and i didnt want to be relocated).
Ok, like 6 candidates, Game Director and the branch manager show up, gave us magazines, food, drinks all the cool stuff.
They showcase us the new build for those 2 games, i saw some bugs and took note.
Now all the good stuff about this new amazing engine for PS4 and Next Gen.
Question time;
-I ask some technical stuff, my mistake, Game director and Manager had no idea. minus point for me.
Director start talking how fun is to work on those games and the field trip for taking pictures, creating assets, etc.
-Got curious, is a new engine, so theres no plugin for Houdini, Susbtance, Quixel, etc. Should i make all the plugins, or they are in talk with those companies? (normally sideFX will give you support to include their tech inside your engine)
The director got mad... minus point again.
-I ask about those two games, the time of production, and if the engine would be open, no meaning for me to study 4 years of one engine and get no portfolio.
-I also point all the bugs of the demo.
(director); "why are you here, what you do?"
(me)- "im TA, etc."
(director) "We dont need your kind, there is too many"
wow.... why you have a TA position open then..
This start at 6PM, already around 9pm...
Start the studio walk... i hate it, All black, black tables, chair, no windows (not my type). They link us with other branch for a fun video talk using new interactive chat technology, was awful.
and wait, is 9pm, all branch is working, he just said there is no overtime, everybody go home at 6 pm as normal. lie.
Back to the meeting room, start one / one interview (i just want go home).
Of course, i was the last one, 10 PM (6pm to 10pm interview)
The director interviewed everybody else one by one in another room, meanwhile we could speak and interact with company X employers, that was fun, i could ask all my technical question to the Engenier team, Designer Team...etc. Nice people. I talk with them until 11pm.
My turn to be interviewed, the director left the room
-"i dont need to be here because we dont need you"
So the HR interviewed me with basic question, name, age..
It felt bad, i went home.
Final story, all my cowerkers who went to the interview got a "we are sorry email "
I got; "please come next week with your work documentation"
Idk if the *director* wanted me to go in so he can bully me lol, or the engenier team witch i speak for 1 hour did like me.
I politely refused the oportunity.
