The graphics in that game have always fascinated me. I wish I knew so much more about how the hell it ended up looking like that.

I'm playing through Nier right now, and that choice is ludicrous. It's not a looker, but there's some great art in that game and the (over)use of bloom gives it a unique look in spots.

Yeah, some of the games really aren't THAT bad looking, at least relative to other options here. And honestly I think beyond those "this seems sort of PS2-ish" moments the game looks just fine.
Although, there's another good candidate for a really bad looking game and just an awful game period: Hour of Victory. I played the demo years ago, and I recall the textures just not looking right. And it was just another cookie cutter shooter, but not really executed very well at all.

I know someone that worked on the game, and he told me not to play it, which cracked me up. That's not a great sign.
