Would you have preferred continuing as Jesse in Control 2?

There should be a 3rd option to indicate it doesn't matter. I think new character is fine, but would have been ok with Jesse as well.

Personally what annoys me is melee focus more than anything.

I never finished it so don't know what happened to her after it or if she managed to find her brother, But from what we saw I'm assuming that the dude in the new game is her brother? She still might show up who knows.

Jesse is way too OP by the end of Control.

From a game play point of view, having a new protagonist makes sense.

And in terms of lore, it could very well be the Raiden thing, playing as another character makes the original look even more capable/impressive.

Yep this would be my issue too. So many games handwave this away or even go so far as to make lore reasons why the protagonist loses all their powers from the previous entry, only to slowly regain them.

Doesn't really matter. If there's a good story to tell with this character then hell yeah, go for it. Better than forcing themselves to tell a story with Jesse again if they don't have one they're excited about.

At first I was a bit disappointed, but after further consideration, I think playing as Dylan has more potential for a more interesting and weirder game. We will get to explore his insanity and how The Hiss is affecting him.

Besides, I don't think Jesse has been ruled out as a playable character yet. Has it? We see her flying at the end.

To be honest, don't really care. Is Jesse really a beloved character ?

The only relevant question is should they have changed the gameplay, i guess we'll see but i really hope we have the same level of interaction with the environment than the first Control.

The transition from John Marston who I was sure rdr2 couldn't top only to be smacked with the epic Arthur Morgan taught me shut up and keep an open mind to new characters. A fresh start with a new character and gameplay loop is probably the better choice even if it would have been fine to keep Jesse.

I dont mind anything thats being done with the sequel.

Its just the marketing for the game was unclear what it was and thats what threw me off. Was it some side game, a full blown sequel.

They really blundered the reveal, even though the trailer was cool

I love Control. I love the game play, the progression, the quirkiness of the world - all of it. I've replayed it a bunch of times. I really like Courtney Hope as Jesse Faden.

At this point, I'm just excited to see what the folks at Remedy have cooked up. What made Control great was their creativity. I want another control game that has that same spirit. If they think the best way to do that is to take it in a different direction, I'm happy to see what they came up with.

Will it be as good as Control? I have no idea. I'm not making any predictions. I'll look at reviews and gameplay once it's out and hope for the best. If the consensus is they made another great game, I'll be happy to buy it at full price to support them.

I also appreciated hearing Courtney's voice at the end of the trailer. It made me think the plan is to do the thing where the second game is Dylan, then the third game will be both of them tag teaming or swapping back and forth.

Yeah, of course, I couldn't wait to play with this one again

Are you kidding me? I was glad they ditched her and that jaw.

Do you work in the fashion industry, Hollywood or in porn, such that you're perpetually surrounded by drop dead gorgeous women all day long?

Jesse McFadden is not unattractive by any conceivable measure. She's hotter than 95% of women most of Gaff knows or could meet IRL.

Control is one of my favourite games - The craziness of the universe just resonated with me.

Would have preferred a continuation.. but hey it's more Control so I'll be there.

We will 100% continue playing as Jesse. Dafuq are you all smoking? Whether as a suprise in this game or the third one will no doubt include 2 protagonists just like AW2.

I would prefer to continue with Jesse cause honestly Dylan looks like a generic bald male protag and so far seems way less interesting.
But it's Remedy so I'm sure he'll get some stories of his own.

i don't remember the story of control, was it good? it was some conspiracy but do not remember about what. i will replay it. i kinda dislike to read story info on memos and emails and such. i can only read so many before i skip them. idc about new character game looks interesting.

I'd rather play as Sam Lake
Alan Wake Dance GIF by Remedy Entertainment

I don't really care about who they put as the protagonist. What I want out of that series is more psychic powers/physics gameplay.

No real need to judge until I play it and see if what they're trying to go for does a good job

Not knowing what the situation with the actress is, I'd guess she's still relevant in the story?

Either option is fine with me.
I liked her powers but didn't really care much about her character or the story in general. As long as the new protagonist is as fun to play as I don't mind the change.

well I adored beth wilder in quantum break so it was only natural I ended up liking jesse a lot too
i will miss her and would prefer her but dylan is fine too

Yes I liked Jesse, I'm not opposed to the new guy. What I am worried about is a potential even greater emphasis on combat and less exploratory investigative feel. My dream game for control 2 was more an xfiles like FBC visiting many locations and investigating the crazy shit. This does look like it could be a wider set of locales which is good, but I'm not sure it's what I was hoping for.

All that said it looks great. Day one.

We have so little information, it could very well be an Alan Wake 2/RE9 situation where you play with both Jesse and Dylan.

Dylan for the melee focused gameplay and Jesse for the shooter action.

I wouldn't mind either option though.

Yep, idk why I see so many posts about continuing with her like they don't even want to give someone else a chance. No one was complaining back in the day when we went from Chris and Jill to Leon and Rebecca in RE 2. We might end up liking her brother more.

I would've loved to play as Jesse, her gameplay is so good and by the end of the game you are literally a superhero. But I'm fine with this, in Remedy I trust. And the end of the trailer maybe hinted at Jesse being playable. We'll see.

Anyway I can't wait, day one on Steam as Control was so, so good. That part was just pure awesomeness

How is the PC version with the latest update? Its only 5 euro. I finished the game twice, but played on console. Now i could run this game maxed out on my PC

Don't know much about the new game yet.

Need to feel how the new protagonist is written to make judgment.

Old or new, I always prefer the better-written one.
