I was watching Discovery channel some time ago and they were talking about a new plane model and that it would probably replace the current airplane by the year 2050. I then thought to myself...damn...by then I'll be almost seventy years old!! There will be so many technological advances in the next few hundred years, but I'll only see a fraction of it, since I think the advancement isn't nearly as fast as sci-fi makes us to believe.
This leads me to the question: If you could be put in stasis for, say, 200 years, would you do it? By that time the world as we know it probably changed so much, it's like a whole new world to explore.
I think I would do it, I really am curious as to what the future will bring and it saddens me when I think about how little of it I'll probably see. Still it's a step in the unknown, maybe war will break out, aliens will destroy civilisation or the power is cut, but it's a chance you'll have to take.
