WoW 1.9 is live

Eh, took me 20 minutes to download from Blizzard, and the servers won't be up for another 6 hours or so.

Linked Auction Houses, I had totally forgotten those were in this patch! :D

I like the idea for normal gamers, but this is like a farmers wet dream now :) It's all good though.
 
yeah, the linked Auction houses is exactly why I'm making Stormwind my perm home today. Screw Ironforge.

Ah yes. I see now. Now everybody doesn't need to be hanging out at IF in order to deal with their auctions.
 
Uh...I dont see why IF wont still be packed. It is still the best starting point for high level instances, so most people will still hang out there to get groups.

It won't have as many alts hanging out there selling, or lower levels like me who have to go there just to hit the Auction House. Basically Ironforge should be converting into a level 60 Citadel with the occasional noob running through:)

The LFG channels are unified across all 3 capitals, so grouping won't be that much of an issue. IF does still have best access to the high lvl instances however.

Keep in mind that when the expansion comes out a lot of people will probably move to Stormwind to have better access to the Dark Portal. Still a ways in the future, but it illustrates the point that things will change as new content comes out now that you are no longer tied to IF for the AH.

I just read that bit about the LFG channel. Yea, that should thin out the crowds a ton.
 
Oooo and didn't notice, they're adding an AuctionHouse to Booty Bay I think, that would definitely help out inter-faction trading.

that auction house has been there for some time now, but it wasnt linked to the others. it was just a standalone AH.

I know the bank is there, but where's the Auction House at?
 
The neutral cities all have Auction Houses now that link with the capital cities: Everlook, Booty Bay, and Gadgetzan (which had one before but it's now linked).

Yeah I knew about the Gadget one, I always skim there every time I'm in Gadget for any deals, since there's usually only around 120 items total on Auction there, I didn't know there was one in Booty Bay, unless the poster above was just mistaken.
 
I'm glad they finally linked Gadgetzan. That should save a lot of time so that I'm not constantly going back to Ogrimmar to find a decent selling market.

Edit: I'm a bit confused, though. Does this mean that Gadget's linked to Ogrimmar or just to the other neutral AHs?

It was a technical one. They had AH's in every city originally, but weren't linked. The AH's in the other cities turned out pretty much useless and were taken out. When asked why they didn't just link them, they said the infrastructure wouldn't currently handle it.

This is the first patch that hasn't made me want to go back to the game. I just don't care anymore. Thoughts of raiding the same instance over and over makes me want to cry over all the time lost.

Why raid? Ive been playing since almost they very start and have not even hit 60 with a character, never been on a raid. I play it casual and make an effort to stop and smell the roses. Either hiring myself out to lower levels for quests and getting into trouble or paling aorund with people to taunt alliance jerks. Hell battlegrounds is a lot of fun again these days too now that Alliance players finally getting better.

Dont pull that shit, you just werent playing right.

i, in fact, was mistaken. i read BB but was thinking Gadget. teh suck.
 
Older Server's AHs suck anyway since everyones between 40-50. Gilneas is a fantastic server but its an old server and while its high pop the AH is empty really.

I tried getting into Battlegrounds, but on my server, hardly any of the Alliance would ever queue up. The Horde simply dominated them.

My biggest problem being bored of the game stems from my growing intolerance for anything fantasy based. I am so sick of elves and dragons. Blizzard need to get on World of Starcraft STAT!
 
I just think its hilarious that the Raid concept works AGAINST the idea of an mmorpg.

People dont actually socialize in wow, they just communicate in acronym till they get in a Raid group and from that point on they might as well be playing with better than average AI. Then when the raid is over they log off and quit. Theres so many other casual players out there just kickin back and having fun without uber equipment or crazy levels.
 
yeah thats why my lock is specced affliction.

Even tho locks got buffed its still hard to group with people cause im not a hunter/rogue/shaman and if there's already another lock there its like meh.

I cannot even fathom unspeccing my Lock now that I've gotten Master Demonologist and Soul Link. Using the remainder of my points in Affliction to get Nightfall which I loved for a few levels earlier. But Soul Link has mad me nigh unkillable:)

HOLY....325 Meg patch for a fresh WoW install, haha.
 
I'm currently demonology but that's for master demonologist / soul link. I don't have any points in imp. enslave. It's just that I was really looking forward to grinding by sacrificing a VW for the HP regen and calling down / enslaving an infernal.

I'm not sure if I'm going to keep this build at 60. If I do mostly PVP I will but if I join an end game guild I'll probably switch. I wouldn't be allowed to have anything out except the imp anyway (most likely) and dark pact would be more beneficial.
 
Dark Pact is really cool, and all of my lifeleech curses n such are buffed by various things. Anyone here gone destruction? I think teknopathic was trying it out but I dunno if thats gonna work out. Seems like a low rent mage.
 
Destruction build is fun. Conflagrate does insane burst damage, instant cast ftw.

I'm mildly miffed I can't conflagrate-spam Rag though, I mean, he's technically already afflicted by immolate, right? =P
 
All I know is that we had a destro-lock in our party in Uldaman last night with me, death count 12 him 2 me(stupid final giant boss). I dunno if he was just bad or what, but he got a lot of aggro, especially compared to me, I only pulled aggro off once when I targeted the wrong mob, thank goodness for Soul Link, allowed my Succubus to absorb most of the damage until it was all under control, haha.

3 new bags added. The first one is a 20-slot bag, all soul shards automatically go to it, and the icon has a number on it for the number of soul shards, like an ammo back. First pattern is in Gadgetzan, then there's one that drops in Scholo and finally one in Molten Core.

Read the patch notes, goober:P
