WoW: Players need to stop joining in on my fights.

Unless I ask for help, or we are in a group, I dont see why people run up and help me beat up a mob im having no trouble solo-ing. Then when its over they stand around as if im supposed to be impressed or thank the shit out of them. Jesus man alive!

it doesnt matter anyway man, once you hit a mob its yours, even if they help, theres no xp shared. Unlike another game i know of in which higher level players can completely ruin your xp by hitting you/ healing you/ or buffing you while you fight a mob *kaff koff*Daoc*kaff* if they feel like it.

I think they are just being nice. Assuming they aren't kill-stealing, you can usually just say 'thanks' and wander off. I know people who do run-by buffings and the like all the time.

When I see someone in a fight, I check their HP and their relative level. If it looks like trouble, I help.

A couple of times I've been almost dead, but saved by some random passer-by. This is one of the best things with a MMORPG, and it saves me the death run. I don't mind.

If someone just watched me die (and then proceeded to steal my kill) I'd be rather annoyed.

Not true, if you and another person attack a mob at relatively the same time, the person who dealt the most damage claims the mob. For instance, say you hit a mob for 40 then another person hits the mob for 50 like a second later, they get the mob.

if they're higher level it's just because they know you'll get full xp and the fight is over faster. I do that with my warlock... someone's fighting something and I put a high level DOT spell on it so they get essentially free xp for that fight. there's really no way to kill steal since whoever gets the first hit gets all xp/loot rights, and you can tell if you're going to get xp/loot if the color bar with their name in it isn't gray.

Where did you hear this? Everytime EVERYTIME I've hit a mob it locks to me and I get the xp.

I would blame server lag on that, other person hit it 1st.

MAF stop being so antisocial.

This is 100% false.

Well then they really need to work on the lag issues, because I've hit a mob a good 2-3 seconds before someone else and I've still lost mobs.

I do it sometimes just to be nice. *shrugs* I dislike it though when I have two and are fine but someone ganks the other... usually its just spawned or something and I havent tapped it yet which pisses me off.

Some spells don't count.. that may be part of your problem

I always open with arcane shot, serpent sting, then regular shot until he gets close enough to hit my traps and a wing clip from my two handed axe. That gives me time to back up, let my wolf aggro him while I switch back to a combo of normal/arcane shot. I use concussion shot mostly in groups.

I used to be the same way, but now with the 20% chance to stun I open with it everytime. And why don't you just let your pet pull aggro right off the bat?

Because I have less control over the pull when the pet does it. Unless of course I possess the thing. A shot is a straight line, less chance of pulling more than one in dangerous groups of aggros. My pet however has its own pathfinding and size, which serves as a problem when I need precision.

I havent been putting points into concussion shot, just reducing mana usage of my other shots. Going out of my way to train in two handed axes paid off, im doing A LOT more damage when push comes to shove, and god I lub you wing clip.

What I mean is why do you go through the whole ordeal of letting it come to you, wing clipping it, running away, and sicking your pet on it. A ranged weapon can hit from quite far away. Why don't you just pull it with a shot and when it gets to a safe yet controllable range send your pet out?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not telling you how to play your character. I'm just trying to understand why you do what you do.

because of the way I currently position my trap, and the fact I do a lot more melee damage than my pet does. I find more success by opening with a few melee hits myself and then backing off. Rather than letting the dog intercept and me running to the enemy.

Yes, my shots hit hard, but I also try and conserve my ammo, so I mix up everything in my arsenal. Plus it keeps my fights interesting.

In groups I tend to stick with more traditional ways of playing. But when im solo-ing I like to try out all sorts of different ways to handle things.

Ah, gotcha. I've put all my buffs into agility therefore I do very little damage when I do connect on a melee hit. Because of this I try to avoid close combat if at all possible.

I've seen this in any MMORPG I've played and WoW is no exception. However, that's not what's been pissing me off lately. The latest craze that's been sweeping the server (I play a [currently] level 22 orc warrior on Tichondrius) is the "someone randomly invites you to join a guild" routine. I think I've been invited into "The DORK Club" at least 6 odd times since I started playing and every time it's been without a word said -- they just notice I'm not in a guild and invite me.

The worst part is that I'm being invited into "The DORK Club", so that means they think I'm a worthy member :( Then again, it's not like I think all WoW players are kewl d00dz if you know what I mean - I do have standards however :) There are about 4 or 5 that have randomly invited me as well whose names escape me at the moment (they either only invited me once or I haven't seen them around) but it's getting fairly sad. Every time I see someone from the dork club, I wonder if I'm going to get an invite. Usually I don't but it's happened enough it will probably happen again.

U will lose some XP if someone helps u out, either by hurting the mob, or by healing u. I'm not sure about buffs. I only kill mob or heal someone if they really look like they need it. Otherwise I wait for them to finish, then buff and heal.

Is there a Free trial?

Not that I'm aware of. If you buy the game, you don't have to pay for the first month, but after that, it's a monthly fee. If you want to buy it at this point, you're going to have to buy the full game.
