Former FFXI players, you may want to consider logging on

…and what would someone do with that weapon? Nothing, the game is dead which is why they're just giving this away at this point. What point is there to having a weapon everyone can get, in a game an MMO that few to no people play?
If you aren't playing, how would you know how active it is? It's nowhere close to being dead. Development is still ongoing and there are servers with more people now than there were before. Also, this is the most accessible the game has ever been in its entire 23 year run.

This is just ignorant doom posting.

Funny part about the jump is that it's technically just an emote. You can't actually use it to jump on ledges lol

And even funnier is that they originally made that same mistake for FFXIV 1.0 (the failed one), but then for 2.0 we finally got an actual functional jump.
FFXIV 1.0 also had the same "weighty" and realistic animations that FFXI has, which I kinda miss. But I remember it also caused an issue with animation locks on abilities, which sucked.

Installing wasn't as bad as I remember. I just had some mild annoyance with my PlayOnline password, which is apparently different from my SE password.

Whatever, I'm back to slaving away at my Mog Garden in the hopes that I'll get my Morbol mount some day...

Yeah no way the physics-based movement would work in today's XIV with all the AOE dancing during combat. :messenger_grinning_smiling:

Seeing this almost got me considering reinstalling since I recently left WoW and need something to fill the hole in my soul, but seeing these weapons, and then the discussion around them, well, it's disheartening. 15min songs? What are bards doing in the meantime? Reforging? Nitrosomething or other? Whoo. I left right before Seekers, and it seems the game has left me behind in the dust in systems and creep. Now I'm sad.
