I'm not even entirely sure what this is supposed to be. It sounds more akin to a MTV mash-up of some sort rather than any type of an homage; it's as if they were so creatively bankrupt to even try to emulate the general feeling of Coldplay's original so they just played over it. I think Bitter End was more of a homage to Battery, since the Sum 41 guys are well-known Metallica fans. The first time I heard it, it was easily recognizable as Battery...

Actually it doesn't sound that bad when you hear it through headphones. Coldplay plays to the left, and Sum 41 to the right sounds pretty bitching.
