Wow, Sum 41 did a horrible job of ripping off Coldplay's The Scientist (clip inside)

When Nickelback gets into the business of ripping off, they do it to themselves. That's not so bad. These two songs sync perfecrly. How dare Suck41 rip off Coldplay.

I'm not even entirely sure what this is supposed to be. It sounds more akin to a MTV mash-up of some sort rather than any type of an homage; it's as if they were so creatively bankrupt to even try to emulate the general feeling of Coldplay's original so they just played over it. Ah well, it's of no consequence. Fad bands will be fad bands.

Haha

On the Edge here in Toronto they started to play Sum 41 songs with other songs playing at the same time to see if Sun 41 ripped off anyone else

There was one Sum 41 song that synched almost perfectly with a Billy Talent song

What a punk band is ripping off other bands? Say it isn't so! How could this be? Big deal it's punk that's what they do.

I think Bitter End was more of a homage to Battery, since the Sum 41 guys are well-known Metallica fans. The first time I heard it, it was easily recognizable as Battery...

A couple songs on Choke use parts of Linkin Park songs or lyrics. And Metallica. It's more of an homage.

And this song is just someone putting the two tracks on top of each other.

Actually it doesn't sound that bad when you hear it through headphones. Coldplay plays to the left, and Sum 41 to the right sounds pretty bitching.
