Wreckfest 2 trailer

I don't like the trailer at all (what is new in the game compared to the first part?), but I really love that they make a successor. I have faith that it will be great, I just feel like someone else should have made the trailer.

I bought the original back when it was called Next Car Game. Took a long time but it turned out great in the end.

My wishlist for the sequel would include VR support, and less of the demolition arena events - those were boring compared to the actual races.

I don't think that trailer is going to sell the game to anyone, it's a surprisingly shitty trailer.

It's a good thing it doesn't matter as I'm probably going to get the game anyway.

Wow, this was unexpected. Thought Wreckreation was their next game but it looks like that's a different studio.

Interesting trailer. Can't wait to see more. Hopefully it's not too far off!

Absolutely cringe trailer but the first one was great. I really hope they're not adding driver dialogue to the races.

I hope they sort the tearing out for consoles, as good as the first game was the tearing was BAAAD.

Not seen it so bad since the 360 days.

I watched this sound-down so I don't know what the problems were the 'trailer' other than it wasn't gameplay, but in either case, they didn't say if it was realtime right? If this was made in-engine with the game's physics engine, then it appears to show a pretty nice upgrade in realistic simulation if you watch what it's doing, albeit in ways that might not necessarily translate to gameplay. The way the tire wrenches off the wheel axle and the vehicle rests and bends on the bared metal of the frame, for example, is deeper than I remember this series being capable of since there's usually still a bit of cheating to the application of force in crash sims. And when you see crashes in the background, the drag of cars flipping in the dirt and the sudden catch of an edge to accellerate the tumble appears to be more violent and physical than the game-like original.

Of course, that's just reading a guess from a view out a driver's window in a trailer which might not even be a game trailer (BTW, being an entirely driver-viewpoint trailer must mean something too, and I love how that in-car looked even though it pointed backwards,) but if it isn't CG, I think there might still be info to glean from this clip as far as what the Wreckfest sequel is capable of.

Wreckreation is by 3Fields, the former Burnout people who did Danger Zone and Dangerous Driving (Wreckreation is seemingly a reworking of what was going to be DD 2.) No relation to Wreckfest. And BTW, not sure what's going on with that game or that studio...

Will we finally have modeled hands on the wheel in cockpit view? I sure hope so! First game was brilliant but that always bothered me.

Hell yeah, this is awesome. I still play Wreckfest all of the time and it's always such a blast to play. Easily one of the best racing games to come out for me.

Am I wrong for enjoying FlatOut: Ultimate Carnage more than Wreckfest?

I actually enjoy Trail Out more as well. Honestly Trail Out is severely underrated. I got it a while back and didn't care for it, but they've done a lot of updates and put out a lot of free content and I think it's pretty amazing for an arcade racer.

Don't want to derail the conversation and this could be nostalgia talking, but has any game done what the original Motorstorm did on the PS3? It felt it had everything, amazing graphics, physics, fun, that deformable mud, etc. It felt so simple and fun back then

Many games with similar concept (including wreckfest), but nothing "like" it.

But it isn't as if the game feels dated or anything, it holds up very well and i doubt anyone right now could do what they did better.

I'm not familiar with the first game but visually, this looks fantastic.

PS: Is it a sort of modern Destruction Derby?
Wreckfest is a more arcade then destruction derby , that I remember ! But you can tune up the difficulty in Wreckfest to make the damage and physics more realistic, it becomes pretty tough to survive a race.

The original is still so fun. There is nothing like racing a school bus or driving in a coffin.
