It's not negative if it's telling the company to do better. That's how I hear the New Day Sucks chants. What's their damn motivation?

Agreed.
Especially during the last match last night.
How many times have they shoveled Kane, Big Show and Rollins (or Authority heel of the moment) down our throats on Raw.
And to close out Raw as a main event with it post Mania?
That is some house show crap.
Hell Bryan Ziggler could have been the main event.
The Cena Ambrose thing could have been the main event.
But no, garbage pile.
And what the hell with Rusev and Goldust?
The crowd was awesome (except for some lapses in judgement during the women's match which were quashed I believe)

Am I the only one who cringes and is upset at these negative chants? It's like the crowd is so easily persuaded into chanting along with the loudest drunken douche trying to start a chant.

Don't worry; for the next 51 weeks you'll get the crowds you're used to. The ones sitting on their hands all night.

But wouldn't silence be a better measure of how much something sucks more so than reacting like that? It creates talk and sort of builds a brand. Maybe New Day will play it up and keep going simply for the reaction. Vince slaps New Day Sucks on a shirt and there you go.

They usually do get silence.

Post-Mania RAW isn't giving anyone the silent treatment.

I guess I get it, but in the moment I was cringing and embarrassed for them, especially the "You look stupid". Didn't he always? But because he attacked everyone, he gets the chants?

Edit: it just seems like some loud mouth seeking attention, which was my initial complaint.

Well, they were referring to the hair-style he now has, which he never did before. It did look stupid, but I guess it suits a heel. I guarantee some of the wrestlers like the Luchadors, Ceasro, Neville, and others will not be getting the same kind of chants going forward. I think it'd energizes the wrestlers and makes them want to go the extra mile. I know that'd do it for me. Negative or positive.

So WM was my first watched event in roughly 10 years. Though I do read updates online sometimes just to keep in touch. In case anyone is interested in reading thoughts from a non-fan...

1. Why the hell did Sting lose? What a shitty way to have a first WWE match. They should have kept it predictable and given him the win.

2. I don't know much about Bray Wyatt but it feels like he should have won. Undertaker is older and one more win does nothing for him. Am I wrong? Plus, I know he lost to Lesnar last year. What's another loss?

3. John Cena is much more lame than he was when I stopped watching. He's so goody-goody cut-and-paste. Its lame.

4. I'm surprised Big Show is still relevant, since he won the royal rumble-type match.

5. Randy Orton is still hype. Looks awesome, wrestles awesome. If I had a favorite wrestler it'd probably be him. His finisher was the best moment all night.

6. Main event was fun, Lesnar is quite entertaining. Enjoyed the swerve.

Anyway, I'm considering making it tradition to watch every PPV with my buddies. We found a perfect bar that plays everything. I doubt I have enough interest to watch Raw but once a month would work. Its good to be back!

What are you talking about? Sheamus got a new haircut that looks really stupid. So the crowd chants it. Sheamus even played off this crowd. This is a great crowd reaction. Cant stand the horrible alternative crowds that pay to sit and text

I guess I just miss good ol fashioned boos instead of the hashtag chant of the moment.

Yep. 3 talented young dudes stuck with a shitty gimmick. I'm surprised that it took so long to happen but I do vaguely remember them getting boring chants during a RAW or two.

Those chants are fine, but the misogynistic chants aren't cool at all. Not in 2015, not ever.

New day came up with that gimmick by themselves btw

The only way they'll get over is if wwe shows their backstage segments during the show (ie sausages and milk) but the show doesn't do character development for anyone who's not in the main event. Its stupid. A lot of the funniest wwe moments in history are backstage moments but they try their hardest to refrain from that these days. I don't get it.

I feel bad for em

Edit: yeah chants against the girls were rough.

It's pretty telling how screwed up WWE is when you can't squeeze in any character development for New Day on a 3 hour weekly show

agreed

i feel like if they showed their backstage vignettes just once during a raw it would do wonders

with a three hour show its pretty inexcusable.

WWE doesn't really want non-main event guys to get over too much. They want them to be like The Usos - get their schtick over enough to hype the crowd and sell merch, but not over enough to disrupt Vince's creative plans for the top of the card. Their entire business model revolves around the brand being kept far bigger than any individual guy, so they always have creative and financial leverage. Hence, very few backstage segments for mid-careers.

NXT in 1 hour a week can do more storyline and character development than WWE can do in 5 hours a week.

Yes/No.

I don't watch NXT, but to suggest those storylines and development would work on a mass scale is questionable. I'm not saying it couldn't work, it's just more unlikely than most would think.

Honestly I think most of them would. They aren't complicated stories or anything, in fact NXT's stories are fairly simplistic. For example: Baron Corbin and Bull Dempsey feuding over who is the true monster of NXT, it's a feud based on two guys who want to beat the shit out of each other. Zayn/Neville was basically the Cena/Bray feud from last year (will Cena Zayn go against his character in order to win!?) only told better. Owens/Zayn is probably the one that might not work on a mass scale due to its indie wrestling tie-ins, but even NXT found a way to tell that story in a pretty simple straight forward way.

NXT can totally work on a larger scale.

Again, I'm not saying it couldn't. If you swapped NXT for RAW, ratings, and audience reactions would absolutely be negatively effected.

Would it recover? Possible. NXT seems to be a very niche thing. You can introduce characters and hope the best, but there are several examples already of characters which just bombed.

I don't believe that for a second. Granted, if NXT was stretched out into a 3 hour show it would suffer. NXT does a good job of truly delivering good content while still leaving you for more, while Raw doesn't. Part of the problem with Raw is that 3 hours is simply too long and Vince is too lazy to actually fill the third hour with good content.

I'm suggesting taking the NXT format and characters, and making them the franchise show of RAW for 3 hours. It wouldn't work.

RAW has issues on it's own, but that would be an even harder sell.

They do a ton of backstage stuff for midcarders but its buried on their app and youtube page.

watched the rest last night. Overall was a damn good Wrestlemania.........especially at $9.99, cannot beat that.

I was actually happy with the Sting vs Triple H fight........I was expecting worse.

Also Taker didn't look to terrible either.

But that ending man.....wow, I was so badly pulling for RR but
Rollins just stole everything lol
