With deep regrets and tears that are soaked
I'm sorry to hear your dad finally croaked
He lived a full life on his own terms
Soon he'll be buried and eaten by worms
But if I could have a son as stupid as you
I'd have wished for cancer so I would die too
So be brave, and be strong, get your life back on track
'Cause the old bastard's dead and he ain't never comin' back!

Wow, very sad... I've only followed wrestling really briefly but it's always sad seeing us lose another one. RIP.

A sad day for wrestling fans....

While not one of my favorites, he made a good heel and I always appreciate all they do to entertain us fans.

Count on something being done in his honor on RAW this week, he was always one of Vince's favorites. He pretty much had a job for life he wanted it...

RIP Ray, you'll be missed.

what is it thats killing wrestlers so young?

drugs? steroids? the toll it takes on their body?

i think newer wrestlers are smarter about things and also might not have to go through such a grind as the old school wrestlers, but who knows...

Bummer.

Traylor was actually one of the nicer guys away from the ring - really involved in his charity work and helping the down and out. The hard-living lifestyle of the old-school guys catches up eventually, I guess.

Really sad.

He was one of the first WWF guys that really stood out in the 80's, where they had gimmicks like Million Dollar Man, Ravishing Rick Rude, Brutus The Barber etc. I remember him and Akeem The African Dream as The Twin Towers, managed by Slick.

Funny thing, the other day I was talking to a friend about how cool the new WWE Classic Superstars figurines look, and how they should release ones for guys like Ricky The Dragon, Honkytonk Man and Big Boss Man with the classic cop uniform.

This is fucked up, i hated the "Boss Man" as a wrestler when i was young, just a testament to how effective he was as a heel. Wrestling destroys your body, it wrecks havoc on your bones, joints, muscles an nerves. Anyone who trains hardcore with weight, plays football or any other rigorous sport will attest to the long term damage you suffer from beating yourself up for years on end...

Got to be a combo of drugs and roids. Look at the list of old schoolers who made it into their sixties. They didn't do roids and drugs as far as I know.

Live hard, die hard, just like most entertainers

Wrestling must be one stressful ass job if like 70% of these guys can't even make it to retirement age

Looks like it was a heart attack.

What we hoped was a hoax has been confirmed.

Former WCW/WWE Star Ray Traylor, aka Big Bossman, passed away last evening in his home.

Voice of Wrestling spoke with WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia, and they confirmed they will go on the air in a few hours to report Ray Traylor died of an apparent massive heart attack, according to the Paulding County Medical Examiner's Office.

Various reports claim that Traylor's wife found him unconscious (and VoW sources claim she found him on the living room couch that way), and she and paramedics who were called to the scene were unable to revive him.

"(His wife) saw him sleeping on the couch, and bent down to kiss him on the forehead, and felt he was cold." said a tearful friend of the family, only identified as Bobbi Jo. "And she asked him 'do you want a cover?'. And he didn't answer."

Traylor was officially pronounced dead at WellStar Paulding Hospital in Dallas, Georgia around 8:30pm EST, according to the Paulding County Coroner.

Traylor was 41 years old. He and his wife Angela owned and operated 'RWT Store-All' in Dallas. He was also in the midst of a political campaign for Commission Chairman of Paulding County.

He leaves behind his wife, and two daughters, ages 11, and 8.

VoW wishes to extend it's deepest sorrows and sympathy to the family and friends of Ray Traylor.

The reaon they die so young has nothing to do with what happens in the ring. (Owen is excempt of course) It's drugs plain and simple.

Aside from the fact that Traylor probably wasn't a drug addict, don't you think the drugs are tied to what happens in the ring? I mean, landing on a plywood wrestling ring day after day is really hard on a person's body. A lot of times, wrestlers get hooked on drugs trying to deal with the daily pain they feel. The point it, it's a very hard life and I don't know if you can blame the wrestlers because a lot of them become addicts.

Man.. he looked 42 back then.

I never thought so. When he first came onto the WWF scene I always thought he looked much younger than guys like Hogan, Orndorff, Santana, Valentine etc. His weight was much higher when he first came in, I think that maybe made him look a bit older to some. I think he always had battles with his weight, because he always seemed to look different at different portions of his wrestling career.

man i still remember that glorious moment when the bossman beat the mountie in the loser goes to jail match, that was so awesome.. "but, but, you can't do this to me, i am the mountie!"
