Hey martial arts geeks, I can't find anything on-line; but the other day while talking to a co-worker he claimed that Bolo Yeung passed away a while back. I haven't heard anything about this, and I can't find anything on-line. IMDB has no date of death in his bio.

What's the word?! I must know.

There's been rumors of Bolo's death for years, even though he's put out movies. :P
 
bolo will never die as long as there are "really strong terminator type asian man" roles to fill

I think Bolo is immortal. Noticed how it didnt seem like he aged between Enter the Dragon and Bloodsport? Maybe the man is actually 315 years old.

I say it's high fucking time video games stop sucking Bruce Lee's dick and give us homage characters to Bolo and Sonny Chiba. Although I don't believe there's a super computer in the world that could animate Sonny Chiba's poopy-face martial arts properly.

As long as a special move allows you to punch down directly on top of someones head, and the camera switches to an X-Ray view, I'm fine with any Chiba game. It must also include 'stereotypical black rapist'.
 
So when Bloodsport was made he was 50?!

Sammo Hung's even faster, in his youth anyway, don't know about now since he spends most of his time on the production side of things in HK films.
 
Yeah, but is Sammo Hung as big as Bolo is? I've never seen Hung before.


There are a couple of scenes in Bloodsport where you can really see how fast Yeung is; in one scene, the camera is positioned on the side/rear, and he throws out a palm strike to the opponent's solar plexus (I've obviously seen Bloodsport about 47 times :D), and you literally have to watch it in slow-motion to see the recoil of his hand (you can't see the initial strike because they cut to the angle late). In another scene, he does a hopping front kick to the guy's sternum followed up by another quick front kick...all in like one second. Crazy.


And to think that not only is the guy absolutely MASSIVE, but he was 50 years old when they filmed that movie-- that's amazing. He was even scarier in Double Impact with Van Damme. I like how he manhandles Van Damme in the truck when they first meet. I also love how he does the nose snort thing, as if to say that he's so unworried about the outcome of the fight that he's just chillin'. :P

Yup because that's his character's name :)

And in Enter the Dragon he's credited as Yang Sze
