WTF Pizza Hut

I've lost quite a bit of weight recently thanks to my exercise routine and diet so I thought I would treat myself to Pizza Hut's new Piri Piri cheese stuffed crust pizza.

This is what I received

That brown strip above the pepperoni is the stuffed crust piri piri cheese and it looks and tastes like donner meat. It's utterly disgusting. While their normal stuffed crust cheese is nothing to write home about, this mutated beast doesn't resemble cheese at all. I think I'm going to be sick.

Anyone else have any stories about being genuinely excited about an advertised food product only to be severely let down by the real thing?

I honestly can't even tell what I'm looking at. I cannot reconcile that into what I know pizza to look like.

That said, my own weirdest pizza delivery experience--in college (many years ago) we ordered Papa John's one time and it took forever to arrive. When we finally got it, the pizza itself was completely bewildering. I'm not even sure if I can describe it accurately.

It was seven or eight separate slices of dough in a roughly circular arrangement, glued together in the middle by a pile of melted cheese. There was no sauce or topping or anything other than a big glob of cheese in the middle that didn't even cover the slices, which in turn did not appear to even form an actual pie. Basically someone threw a bunch of mismatched pizza dough slices together in a box and dumped cheese on them.

It had to be completely deliberate for no apparent reason. Called and barely started to explain what the hell we had just received and they just said "we're sending another pizza out, don't worry about it." Like they already knew. So bizarre.

Guys, I think he unrolled the crust to look at the cheese inside of it. That brown stuff is the cheese. It's a fairly slim pizza slice too, so it's kind of hard to picture at first.

But that does look disgusting.

I think he opened up the crust and took a picture of what's inside of it. He got a stuffed crust pizza and the cheese was not melted inside.

That's close to what I got one time, described in my above post. Just picture the dough slices not forming a whole pie and a lump of cheese gluing the tips together.

It may be different now, but for a while, Pizza Hut's cheese ingredient was called "pizza cheese."

Stop eating at chains, bros.
I enjoy California Pizza Kitchen and Shakey's. :(

Pizza Hut pizza is crap, unless you get a Pan pizza.

Their pan pizza is definitely the best thing they offer. I don't order from the hut myself, but every once and a while someone I know will order it and they will offer me a slice. Their pan pizza is such a greasy, junk foody delight from my childhood.

Yeah I must cosign the other posts, there has to be a local spot where you live that's better than those chains. I live in Cincinnati, Ohio and there is a spot called Adriaticos that is about as good as a real mid-tier NY pizza spot.

You should see what happens when I ask for Jalapeno's and Pepperoni, they don't even cook it right so it's fully cooked.

You blow Pizza hut

Cutting pizza with a fork and knife, how dare you. Eat that shit like a man. Jk, and pizza hut is garbage. Used to like them like 10 years ago. Probably varies place to place though.

your first mistake was ordering pizza hut, if you eat at any chain, Papa Johns is the only decent one.

Dominos is way better. Their sauce actually has some spice to it and the crust actually has some taste.

Honestly, I love pizza so much that even chain pizza tastes delicious to me most of the time. Now, there are local joints that are better, but they are also usually more expensive, in my experience.

I'm the same way. I'll eat pizza from pretty much anywhere.
