I'M SPECIAL AT GUILD BORES

I have literally watched as SquareEnix nerfed the shit out of Dragoons with each and every patch. Then I watched as my own in game friends refused to party with me because my class was insanely gimped. Then I watched (well I didn't really watch, I actually left for hours at a time to do other things) as my Dragoon sat in Jeuno for 8+ hours at a time LFG and never once getting an invite. The way FFXI is structured is you spend months leveling whatever your favorite class is for months and months at a time. Then you get to 60+ and realize that unless you picked the optimal class way back when, you're pretty much fucked..

Darks when played right can make a Ninja tank happy. They can virtually stop AoE attacks midway and when hasted, they can be even more effective.
You're mistake was leveling 3 melee jobs to lvl 60 and still not having 1 single friend, either it be a paladin, a ranger, a bard, a red mage, a white mage, a black mage, heck even a thief to form a static with you. The game doesn't let you level that fast, you should have had plenty of time to figure out that the best way to level post 60 when the general popular drops down and it can take even a high demand job like a white mage 2-5 hours to find a PT is to have friends. The point of FFXI is to build a support network, to have friends and to do things together. That's why people who want to do everything for themselves don't like the game and quit, which is fine by me, because they tend to be the same inconsiderate people who leave a party midway without notice, and do all sorts of selfish things.
You'll always need the core of a tank, 2-3 support (whm, blm, rdm or brd) and 2-3 DD. If you attach yourself to either a tank or one of the support jobs, you can get to 75 no problem. In fact, most DDs form their own PTs and you'll be surprised how many lazy support jobs (red mages, white mages and black mages) just put up their flag and wait because THEY CAN! Take advantage of that and grab them.
Anyways I'm sorry you had a terrible time LFG.

yes.. you can take two classes. the limitations are that each class has a primary skill which you can't get for your secondary class. otherwise your secondary class gives you the same skills and benefits as if it was your primary class.etiolate said:So wait, you can multi-class in Guild Wars?
